Ex-Armani model bullfighter left soaked in blood as he is gored in the face

AN ARMANI model turned bullfighter was left soaked in blood after being gored in the face during a festival.

Shocking pictures show the moment Cayetano Rivera was flipped in the air as the bull's horns ripped through his face.

The former Vogue cover star's face was coated in scarlet blood as shocked onlookers winced in their seats.

He also appeared so suffer a puncture wound to the groin and was seen wincing in pain as a colleague examined it.

Fellow matadors had rushed to Rivera's aid using their capes to tend his wounds following the brutal encounter.

Spanish media have reported that Rivera required surgery after being rushed from the ring.

The former model belongs to long line of famous bullfighters and his great-grandfather is said to have been the inspiration for the young matador in Ernest Hemingway's novel The Sun Also Rises.

Rivero made his debut in the sport in 2005.

In August Sun Online revealed the gruesome moment a matador was launched into the air and dragged around the ring when a bull's horn impaled his armpit.
