A former Golden Gloves boxing champion was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison Thursday for the brutal murder of his girlfriend.
Trevis Hall, 31, stabbed and bludgeoned ex gal pal Margarita Rivera with a pipe in Far Rockaway because she broke up with him, according to trial testimony.
Cops found Rivera, laying in a puddle of her own blood, on the sidewalk following the Dec. 2014 attack.
She managed to mumble ‘Tre” three times before passing out to emergency responders asking who’d beaten her.
Later that afternoon, cops found an unconscious Hall, a former bantamweight, lying in a dumpster. A receipt in his pocket showed he’d purchased the same pipe used to murder Rivera a mere 90 minutes before he beat her to death.
“Breaking up with someone should not equal a death sentence, but in a violent rage this defendant carried out a brutal execution of his former lover,” Queens District Attorney Richard A. brown said in a statement.
