Glamour model, 27, jailed for biting a chunk out of a woman’s EAR in road rage attack

A GLAMOUR model who bit off part of a woman's ear "like a dog with a chew toy" when she was scolded for honking at pedestrians has been jailed.

Chloe Hammond, 27, launched into a foul-mouthed tirade when Julie Holloway tapped on the window of her car, telling her off for using her mobile phone while at the wheel of her Audi TT.

The 27-year-old then got out of the car, kicking Mrs Holloway in the stomach, before biting down on her 56-year-old victim's ear and spitting out the flesh onto the pavement in the confrontation along the Embankment on March 19.

Hammond of Rayleigh, Essex, denied but was convicted by a jury at Southwark Crown Court of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She was today jailed for five years.

The Evening Standard reported that Judge Philip Bartle QC this morning said: "I'm sure you did not go out that day to do the appalling damage you did. I accept you are genuinely remorseful for this appalling behaviour you exhibited, I accept what occurred was completely out of character."

The court heard a victim impact statement from Mrs Holloway, who said she felt "like a prisoner in my own home".

She added: "I'm so scared to go out because there are nasty people around, it's a consistent worry."

Prosecuting, Christian Moll previously told the court: "Mr Gallego saw the defendant appearing to bite the complainant's right ear.

"He described Ms Hammond as thrashing around like a dog with a chew toy."

After someone else recovered the missing chunk of ear in a piece of tissue, Ms Holloway was rushed to St Thomas' A&E department and eventually required reconstructive surgery to "make the ear look as normal as possible".

Hammond, who has worked on the X-rated channel BabeStation was filmed on mobile in the horrifying attack.

She had handed herself into police two days after the attack.

Hammond has been in prison since her trial.

She waved at her family as she was led away to the cells.
