Hit-and-run driver barreled into woman walking her dog

Shocking surveillance video shows the moment a hit-and-run driver rammed into a woman walking her dog in Manhattan.

The 43-year-old victim was crossing St. Nicholas Avenue, near West 157th Street, from west to east on Friday around 10:20 p.m. when a dark Chrysler 300M four-door sedan made a turn and slammed into her, cops said.

Video shows the car knocking the woman off her feet, leaving her lying in the middle of the street with severe body trauma, before taking off.

She was rushed to Mount Sinai St. Luke’s hospital in critical condition.

The dog, which did not appear to be injured, was still on its leash and appeared to look down the street at the fleeing car. The pup’s condition was unclear Saturday morning.

The driver remained at large early Saturday.

About four-and-a-half hours later, a 30-year-old man was critically injured when a drunk driver in a Subaru struck him on the Belt Parkway near Exit 19 in South Ozone Park, Queens, cops said. The driver, Jose Paul, 44, of Hollis, remained on scene. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired.

It wasn’t clear what the victim was doing on the parkway, police said.
