Hope Hicks told members of the House Intelligence Committee last week that one of her email accounts was hacked, it was reported Wednesday.
President Trump’s former communications director was testifying in the committee’s Russia probe when she said she no longer has access to the email account, NBC News said.
Hicks said there were two accounts she can no longer access: one she used during Trump’s campaign and another that was a personal account.
It was not clear which account she claims has been hacked or when she realized the breach.
Hicks told the committee that she was not tech-savvy, according to NBC.
As one of Trump’s closest advisers, Hicks’ correspondence is of interest to special counsel Robert Mueller as he investigates possible collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russia.
