A JILTED cyclist slammed his bike at speed into his ex-girlfriend as she strolled along a seafront with another man.
Holly Blake, 32, was left fighting for her life after she was struck by Paul Gallon, while her male companion was also seriously injured.
Gallon, 35, was yesterday warned he faces a lengthy jail sentence.
A court heard he was upset his relationship with Ms Blake was over — and lost his temper when he spotted her walking with William Nicholson, 43.
He mounted the pavement, sped up and hit them in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside.
Ms Blake suffered serious head injuries while Mr Nicholson had a broken eye socket, fractured temple and shattered cheekbone.
Both have since recovered after the incident in November last year.
Gallon, of North Shields, admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Mr Nicholson.
He also pleaded guilty to the same charge, without the intent, to Ms Blake.
He was yesterday bailed ahead of sentencing next month at Newcastle crown court.
Judge Stephen Earl told him: “Mr Gallon, I’m not going to mislead you in any way, shape or form.
“These are very serious matters. Clearly you are facing a custodial sentence of some length.
“You need to put your affairs in order.”
