Juvenile detention supervisor sexually abused resident: suit

A former supervisor at a Bronx juvenile detention center has been accused again of sexually abusing residents.

Natalie “Nathalie” Medford was among several Horizon Center staffers who abused Miguel Smith, 20, when he was at the facility in 2013, according to a Manhattan federal suit filed by his lawyer, Vik Pawar, on Monday. Smith says he was raped by Medford, who was then a supervisor at the facility.

In 2015, the Department of Investigation concluded that Medford had “an inappropriate sexual relationship” with a resident, and she has been accused by a resident of granting him privileges in return for sex.

Neither Medford’s lawyer nor the city Law Department returned calls seeking comment.
