A shop manager is looking for two kind-hearted teenage girls so she can thank them for comforting a “violently sick” and sobbing child who lost her parents.
The teens brought the little girl into the Cardiff branch of the Body Shop on Friday after finding her throwing up and crying outside.
And they then stayed to look after the distraught child until her missing parents could be tracked down.
They even popped out to buy her some new clothes to replace the ones she had been sick on.
Store team leader Helen George told Wales Online the teens had come in between 5pm or 6pm but had left before she had a chance to thank them properly.
She said: “One of the girls I work with came into the back room. Two young girls had come into the store with this girl crying.
“It looked like she had been there a long time. She was being violently sick. Security were trying to track down her parents.
“These young girls were in shock. They can’t have been more than 13 or 14.
“They said ‘shall we get her some clothes?’. I said I’d give them some money but they went to Peacocks and bought some clothes.
“I took the little girl’s cardigan off and put the new clothes on. The girls waited until the parents arrived and then disappeared.
“Out of all the people, these young girls took it upon themselves to do something.
“I want to find these girls to buy them some treats as I didn’t get to say thank you or even goodbye.
“I want to tell these girls’ mums how proud they must be.”
Ms George said the girls were both blonde, aged around 13 or 14, and had come into the St David’s shopping centre store after school.
She said: “It was shocking enough for me as a mother to deal with that.
“But for a little girl not to just run and pass the problem on made me really emotional afterwards.”
