The man who accidentally shot a 10-year-old boy while handling a friend’s gun in Staten Island was charged early Sunday, cops said.
Semion Mosheshvili, 42, turned himself in to cops at the 123rd Precinct around midnight and was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and acting in a manner injurious to a child, officials said.
Mosheshvili was handling the gun on the second floor of a friend’s home on Deisius St. in Prince’s Bay when the weapon discharged around 7:30 p.m.
The bullet traveled through the floor and struck the child — who was also a guest at the home — in the right shoulder.
He was rushed to Staten Island University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The gun that Mosheshvili accidentally fired is legally owned and registered by his friend, who was not identified and has not been charged with a crime.
Police said she was showing the gun to him when it went off.
