Who is Nathan Elsey? Dunkirk actor arrested over Gaia Pope disappearance with Rosemary Dinch

A TEENAGE actor who was an extra in war epic Dunkirk is being questioned by cops on suspicion of murdering missing Gaia Pope.

Here's what we know so far about Nathan Elsey, 19, who was arrested alongside pensioner Rosemary Pinch, 71, over the disappearance of Gaia Pope.

Gaia, 19. from Langton Matravers, Dorset, was last seen running past a house in CCTV footage last Tuesday.

There have been no sightings of the teenager since despite a huge search in Swanage, Dorset.

Her twin sister Maya wrote on social media the teenager has epilepsy and had been suffering from seizures before she went missing.

The teenager is believed to have been feeling anxious about a man getting released from prison who was jailed for assaulting her two years ago.

Last week Miss Pope’s family, including her actress mum Natasha Pope who previously appeared in Inspector Morse and The Bill, issued a statement urging her to contact them or police.

They said: “We are all frantic with worry Gaia and are desperate to know you are OK."

Neighbours say Gaia had been temporarily staying at Rosemary Dinch house in nearby Swanage when she vanished without a trace.

Her grandson Nathan Elsey, 19, was last night arrested alongside Dinch, 71, and they have both been questioned on suspicion of murder.

It is reported he lives in a flat behind Mrs Dinch's flat with his mother, Debbie.

Neighbours said that they had often seen Mr Elsey and Gaia together.

Ms Dinch has been released under investigation.

Senior Investigating Officer Neil Devoto, of Dorset Police's Major Crime Investigation Team, said:  "Her (Gaia's) disappearance is completely out of character and, following our extensive enquiries, we sadly now believe that she may have come to harm."

He appeared as an extra in Christopher Nolan’s film Dunkirk two months ago.

On his casting website, the aspiring actor said the role as a World War II soldier gave him “more determination than ever to fulfil my dream of becoming an actor”.

The student at Brockenhurst College is also studying for a Level 3 Performing Arts Diploma.

His Facebook profile shows that he follows Everton FC and is a keen video game player.
