A DEVOTED vegan was left sick as a pig when a supermarket substituted her vegan mayo – for a PORK PIE.
Healthy-eating Molly Richards got more than she expected when her Sainsbury's online order turned up with the giant pork-filled pastry.
But Molly, who was expecting a 340g jar of Follow Your Heart Vegenaise, was able to see the funny side of the mix up after receiving the 130g pie.
She told the Bristol Post: “The delivery man was pretty nice about it and I just told them that I didn’t want any meat products in my house, so he took it back with him.
“Unfortunately, I think they bin them, which is even worse. Luckily, I don’t mind as I can just send it back.
“I thought it was funny. I totally understand it was probably a computer automated error, but it made me giggle.”
The Sun has contacted Sainsbury’s for comment.
If a supermarket doesn’t stock an online shopper’s order, they will often substitute it with a similar item.
In the past, The Sun has reported how one customer was given a bottle of Chardonnay instead of a carton of apple juice.
While another claims to have been sent a butternut squash rather than a bottle of Robinson’s Orange Squash.
