Tory rebel Anna Soubry says she will QUIT the party unless Theresa May throws out Jacob Rees Mogg and hard Brexiteers

SERIAL Tory rebel Anna Soubry has threatened to QUIT the Tories unless Theresa May throws out Jacob Rees-Mogg and other Brexiteers.

The former minister, who has repeatedly thrown a spanner in the works of our EU exit, warned that the Prime Minister must "sling em out" as they are NOT proper Tories.

In an extraordinary rant last night, she told BBC Newsnight: "If it comes to it, I am not going to stay in a party which has been taken over by the likes of Jacob Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson. They are not proper Conservatives."

And she said that "unless Theresa stands up and sees off these people she is in real danger of losing huge swathes of not just the parliamentary party but the Conservative Party."

If Jacob Rees-Mogg takes over as Prime Minister it will cause "huge damage to our economy", she claimed.

"I'm not prepared to sit by any longer and put up with this nonsense."

The party has been split for years over the issue of Europe, and now many are divided on how exactly Britain will leave the EU.

Ardent Brexiteers want us to take back control of our borders, laws and do our own thing with trade deals around the world.

But Remainers like Ms Soubry want Britain to stay as close to the EU as possible – which could mean it barely feels like we're leaving the bloc at all.

Now the war is threatening to tear the Tories apart.

Ms Soubry said Brexiteers were holding Mrs May hostage.

She stormed: "My frontbench probably isn't but it is in hock to 35 hard ideological Brexiteers who are not Tories.

"They took down Major, they took down Cameron, two great leaders, neither of whom stood up for them.
