The Princess of Wales barely works, and when she is seen at an event in recent years, everyone holds their breath to see what she’s pulled from her Meghan Lookbook. We usually get “Kate’s year in fashion” pieces this time of year, and usually those articles are summaries of coatdresses and Sister Wife looks. But now that she’s Princess of Wales, the Meghan cosplay is increasingly outrageous, as is the fact that few British outlets call out Kate for her shameless single-white-female-ing. Speaking of, Tatler wrote this with a straight face: “Is the Princess of Wales the queen of quiet luxury? Kate’s 2023 wardrobe has oozed enough ‘silent expensiveness’ to thrill even Shiv Roy.” Sidenote: referring to Shiv Roy as a quiet luxury icon is hilarious given that Shiv’s wardrobe was mostly a reflection of the character’s failed attempts to be taken seriously. Shiv wore boxy, ill-fitting power suits and tried to neuter her femininity with high-neck knits.

From Loro Piana to Max Mara, Toteme to The Row, 2023 saw the final skulking shift from opulent to discreet, extravagant to understated. Where once the rich and important strived to flaunt what they had with regal colours and jewels, and then big brands and flashy labels, this era is all about authentic elegance and timeless pieces. And the Princess of Wales’s wardrobe evolution tracks just so: from preppy princess in Emilia Wickstead, to stealth wealth in Sezanne. Where Queen Elizabeth II was beloved for her bouclé suits in bold colours, Kate is carving out a new style identity according to the council of the Roys, not the Royals.

I’m including some photos of the looks referenced in Tatler’s piece, plus some of Kate’s other 2023 looks which don’t fit the “quiet luxury” theme. For example, Kate’s coronation look, in which she had a designer make a fake headpiece with some glitter and glue gun. Or Kate’s recent copypasta at the Together at Christmas event, where she tried to put her stink on one of Meghan’s Invictus looks. One thing I’ll give Kate (slightly) is that she really leaned into pantsuits this year, and some of her suits were even flattering. Some were not. It really did feel like she was attempting a more “modern workwear” vibe rather than just wearing endless custom McQueen coatdresses constantly. Finally, trousers in her 40s. Who would have thought. PS… I totally forgot about Kate’s BAFTA look, with those gloves!! YIKES.

On Wednesday Ranvir revealed she would be filling in for Kate on Thursday’s GMB after spending the week standing in for Lorraine Kelly.

She told viewers: ‘I’m getting up a bit earlier tomorrow because I’ll be bringing you Good Morning Britain.

‘Louise Minchin will be in the hotseat here. She’ll be joined on the safe here by Meera Syal.’

Derek, 56, has been plagued with health woes after contracting Covid in 2020 and is now said to be fighting for his life after being taken dangerously ill last Monday.

GMB presenter Kate is said to be holding a 24/7 vigil by his bedside and has cancelled all work commitments while his family ‘pray for a miracle’. It is expected she will spend Christmas at her husband’s bedside in hospital .

Derek has been in and out of hospital after he fell seriously ill with coronavirus at the very start of the pandemic in March 2020, and was left with lasting damage to his organs.

Doctors put him in a medically induced coma and he became the longest-suffering coronavirus patient in the UK after spending 13 months in hospital, apart from Kate and their two children – Darcey, 16 and Billy, 13.

However, he has readmitted several times with numerous health issues, including kidney failure, brain inflammation and liver damage.

‘This setback has been a huge blow for his family and all the people caring for him.

‘Kate has been utterly incredible — by his side while being an amazing mum to Darcey and Billy, and trying to manage their expectations of a family Christmas.’

Kate recently revealed her family are ‘adjusting to a new normal’ as Derek battles to get better and shared a ‘promising’ update on Derek’s health, hoping it could lead to an improvement.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Kate shared: ‘Derek’s in hospital having some treatment. It’s not an emergency thing, it’s not a dramatic rush back into intensive care, thank goodness. It’s something that started last year that we hope will lead to improvement.

‘I’ve managed to get it in before the end of the year. It’s something we were trying to do in the summer, but there are referrals and time and all of those things.

‘Every day we wait and see. There isn’t a dramatic improvement but touch wood things haven’t gone backwards either. So we’re just adjusting to a new normal.’

Ricky Gervais has defended making a joke about terminally ill children, telling his critics he wishes them ‘luck’ in getting it removed from his Netflix special, Armageddon. 

The comedian, 62, has come under fire after the clip started circulating on social media, showing the star branding sick children ‘baldies’ and asking those who requested to meet him via the Make-A-Wish Foundation: ‘Why don’t you wish to get better?’ 

Yet speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live’s Nihal Arthanayake about the backlash, the comic insisted the joke had been taken out of context as he hit back at claims of ‘ableism.’ 

He revealed: ‘In the actual skit, I say “I’ve been doing a lot of video messages lately for terminally ill children. Only if they request it. I don’t burst into hospitals and say, wake up baldy”.’

‘I’m literally saying in the joke that I don’t do that. But people have a reaction. They don’t analyse it. They feel something – that’s what offense is. It’s a feeling.’

Ricky continued: ‘That’s why “I’m offended” is quite meaningless. What do you want me to change?’

The star’s joke prompted a petition calling on Netflix to remove the skit from his comedy special and when asked if had seen the specific wording of the petition, Ricky replied: ‘Good luck. That’s what I say to them. Good luck. I’ll even retweet it’.

Ricky then revealed how he he deals with criticism of some of his comedy routines, explaining: ‘Ninety-nine percent of it is faux offense. They’re not really offended. They just want to be heard. 

‘I’ll explain “no, you’ve mistaken the subject of the joke with the actual target.”

‘Of all the millions of people that watched it and loved it, only a few don’t like it. If I give them special attention and try and placate them, I’ve annoyed the other millions of people that got the joke. 

‘They go “no, you’ve ruined it for us!” So, I’ve got a duty to the people that like it and get it.

‘I wouldn’t sit down with a heckler, would I? If I’m playing to twenty thousand people, I wouldn’t stop the show and explain to them. I ignore them.’

Ricky then spoke about whether his comedy was representative of his actual views on controversial issues, saying: ‘Particularly with irony and satire, I’m often playing a character.

‘But some people get confused and think that a joke is a window to the comedian’s true soul.

‘It’s just not true. It’s a joke. No one does this with puns, do they? Two blokes didn’t really walk into a pub.’

Among those hitting out at the comic for his joke were British disability charity Scope. 

During his joke about Make-A-Wish requests, Ricky said ‘I always say yes [to their requests]. And I always start the video the same way. I go “why didn’t you wish to get better? What, you f***ing retarded as well?”‘  

Ricky continues: ‘I don’t do that either, okay. These are all jokes, alright. I don’t even use that word in real life. The R word.

‘I used it in a joke, that’s not real life is it. I’m playing a role.’ 

Yet Scope warned that ‘language like this has consequences’, stating: ‘We wish we were surprised by reports that Ricky Gervais has used ableist slurs in his new Netflix special.

‘Language like this has consequences and we’re just not accepting the explanation that Gervais uses to try and justify this language.’

‘He argues that he wouldn’t use this language in ‘real-life’. But his stand-up routine doesn’t exist in a parallel universe. The stage is real. Netflix is real. The people this kind of language impacts are real.’

Two days later, Scope said it had been forced to turn off its replies on Twitter after receiving hateful messages, while adding that ‘we aren’t here to dictate what anyone should or should not find funny.’ 

‘Comedians using the R-slur emboldens others to use it. We’ve seen this first hand this week, with disabled people being abused directly in the replies to our post. This is real life, whether or not Gervais would use the slur himself outside of his routine.’

The charity added: ‘We aren’t here to dictate what anyone should or should not find funny. But we can’t pretend that this comedy exists in a vacuum. This week has proven that.’

Former Ex on the Beach star Ashley Cain also hit out at Ricky for making jokes about terminally ill children.

Ashley’s daughter Azaylia died when she lost her battle with acute myeloid leukaemia in April 2021, when she was just eight-months-old.

Reality star Ashley, 33, and his partner Safiyya Vorajee have spoken openly about their heartache over their loss and have been raising funds in their late daughter’s name to help other children who are battling cancer.

He posted on his Instagram Stories: ‘I was actually a fan of Ricky Gervais but I had to turn off his stand-up the other day as I was watching it with family and there were multiple jokes about terminally ill children and especially kids with cancer.

‘Some things are just not funny. Especially to those parents who are left behind. 

‘You can get cancelled for so many things these days but it’s ok to make a mockery of dying children. 

‘I’m actually so mad about this.’

Ashley hinted he was struggling to remain calm while composing his message, writing that he was ‘trying to remain as professional’ as possible, adding: ‘I know Ricky makes jokes about having so much money that he doesn’t care about what us people think.’

He continued: ‘But someday he will learn and he best hope it’s not me that has to teach him that lesson. Because I don’t play when it comes to certain things. And that is definitely one of those things.’

Ashley said that he had spent time with other grieving fathers earlier the same day: ‘The maddest thing is, it was only today that I played in a charity match for Good Morning Britain alongside a group of great gentlemen that are part of a charity for bereaved fathers.

‘Each man I stood next to shared each other’s excruciating pain from the loss of a child. 

‘Brilliant men, with beautiful children who were taken from this earth too soon. Left with a hole in their lives that is truly impossible to fill.’

Ashley Cain also hit out at Ricky for making jokes about terminally ill children.  His daughter Azaylia died from acute myeloid leukaemia in April 2021 at just eight months old 

Ricky is no stranger to backlash over his jokes. Last year, the comedian hit back at critics after Twitter’s ‘woke brigade’ turned on Ricky for mocking cancel culture with jokes about transgender people, Adolf Hitler and AIDS in his SuperNature Netflix special. 

He kicks off the show with a warning about irony as he describes the concept of comedy to the audience as ‘basically a bloke talking’, before purposely failing to recall any ‘funny female comedians’. 

In SuperNature, Ricky wastes no time singling out the ‘virtue-signalling’ and ‘dominant mobs’ who are quick to criticise just to ‘bring people down to raise their own status’.

But his jokes were later described as ‘dangerous’ material by an American LGBT rights group, while Stonewall accused him of ‘making fun of trans people’.

In response, Ricky told The Spectator at the time: ‘My target wasn’t trans folk, but trans activist ideology. I’ve always confronted dogma that oppresses people and limits freedom of expression.’

BBC presenter Ben Boulos was interrupted while live on television on Wednesday morning by a man who had mistaken him for an employee.

The news anchor, who was sporting a hi-vis jacket, was presenting a segment from a market hall in Birmingham when the hilarious encounter took place.

A confused-looking man could be seen wandering about behind Ben, 39, who was talking about the rate of inflation on the prices of food ahead of Christmas.

While in mid-flow, the man walks up to Ben and asks him something, to which he replies: ‘I don’t work here, I’m just doing the news!’

From the BBC’s studio in Salford, presenter Jon Kay thanked Ben for fitting his reporting into his ‘shift at the market’.

At the time he was handling serious questions on the country’s president, Park Geun-hye, being ousted from power.

But suddenly, the child burst into the room in a bright yellow top and performs a comical dance behind the Cleveland, Ohio, native.

Robert, 44, focused entirely on the camera as he attempted to blindly hand off his daughter, who was clearly curious as to who he is talking to.

And his parental problems soon doubled as a baby also excitedly made his way into the room under his own power in a walker.

Eventually, she managed to get them both out, and the interview continued.

Dave Myers has left viewers in tears as he shared an emotional health update during The Hairy Bikers’ Christmas Special.

The chef, 66, offered an update on his recent diagnosis while sharing the reason he hasn’t publicly shared the type of cancer he’s been diagnosed with.

While much of The Hairy Bikers’ Christmas Special focused on the pair’s love of food, Dave did also share insight into his recent cancer battle, including unseen clips of his hospital treatment.

Talking about the moment he found out he had cancer, Dave remembered receiving a phone call from his doctor while driving on the motorway in France.

‘I can’t remember the rest of the drive home, it was like everything collapsed around us,’ his wife Liliana added.

‘It’s like, ”Where do we go from here?” Dave continued. ‘When I first got the call, what went through my mind was disbelief, and a refusal to believe it in a way.

‘It’s the word, isn’t it, the word that everybody fears.’

He added that the moment it ‘got real’ was when Dave went to chemo for the first time, before it ‘got really real’ when he lost all his hair.

‘The first lot of chemo was very, very destructive,’ Dave shared, recalling how he was told by an oncologist that he would be ‘taken to the edge’.

‘You don’t realise what an impact it can have, the debilitating effects kick in quite quickly.

‘My sense of taste and appetite went, I was poorly, you see your weight drop and you’ve got to eat, but it’s finding something you want to eat. I had sores in my mouth. I would fall over quite a lot.’

‘It was hard, and it is hard to see him physically struggling with the effects of the treatment,’ Liliana adds.

‘By the second lot of chemo, my hair came out. It really is quite radical, it’s not a gradual moulting, your hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, beard, everything just goes,’ Dave went on.

After his 37th round of chemotherapy, viewers saw the emotional moment David got back on his bike for the first time. 

‘I knew I’d got my man back. It was like a miracle had happened, because it was something we thought he’d never do again. But he does it.

‘I was jumping for joy, not for any other reason, but to see my best mate doing what he does.’

Dave’s emotional update left many viewers in tears, with some praising the presenter for speaking so candidly about his cancer battle.

Dave previously praised his co-star Si King for helping him through his battle with cancer, for which he is still going through treatment. 

He confessed that he saw their festive special as a way of showing his gratitude, as he explained: ‘This time we shared that food with people I owe my life too. There’s the nurses, the consultants, the physiotherapists who taught me to walk again.’

His co-star and best pal touchingly added: ‘It was the return for Dave and for me to normal a little bit and that was very precious when things haven’t been for Dave particularly so by default haven’t been for me either…

‘It was lush to see Dave riding saying ”are you sure we’re not turning left here”.

Dave announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer in May 2022 and he is currently still undergoing treatment for the disease. 

Last month, he revealed he was ‘stable’ and back at work, adding he was ‘really enjoying life at the moment’, saying: ‘: ‘I’m doing all right. I’m still having treatment but everything seems stable…

‘I’ve been back with my best mate on the bike, filming and doing the books and back to work. So it’s all pretty good, actually. I’m really enjoying life at the moment.’

Speaking about their Christmas special, Dave said: ‘The importance of this Christmas special has been huge for me. I really wanted to, as did Si, show our gratitude. We’ve opened ourselves up enough without oversharing too much…

‘The programme is really honest and from the heart…

‘The whole thing worked from start to finish. It’s been amazing getting back on the bikes together, we set off down the road and Si was leading so I didn’t have to think about where I was going…

‘That feeling of again doing what we’ve done for 30 years was magical. Si’s got shoulders like a bison and following that silhouette into the landscape was joyous. It was like getting my wings back’.

Dave, who has been married to Liliana Orzac since 2011, spoke about the importance of support from nearest and dearest, saying: ‘Knowing Si has been there is fantastic…

‘A lot of the credit has to also go to my wife, she’s been there through it all with me from the start. It’s absolutely vital and I feel really sad for those people who have to go through it on their own.’

Dave recently detailed the tearful moment he was able to get back on his motorbike again for the first time since his cancer diagnosis

Speaking about food during treatment, Dave explained: ‘Food is vital when you’re recovering from cancer, one is appetite and one is getting the calories in….

‘Sometimes I have to give myself a good talking to because if you’re feeling rough, you don’t feel like eating but you have to do it. 

‘There are moments when you get back into food that you look forward to it again. It’s important to find things that you like as well during that journey. It’s the stuff of life. 

‘It doesn’t matter if you’re a prince or pauper, everyone has something that they like to eat. Pancit noodles now have legendary status for me.’

Dave and Si have been taking to their motorbikes once again in recent months, to film for a new Hairy Bikers series out next year.

The BBC Two travel series, Hairy Bikers Go West, will see the duo travel from Scotland to Devon across eight episodes. 

Dave said although show bosses tried to reduce the length of his work days, he still managed to keep at it sometimes for up to ten hours to record the episodes.

The Hairy Bikers rose to fame with their popular cooking programmes but have slowed down their busy schedule due to Dave’s health.

Dave, who has not revealed what type of cancer he has, said he had endured ’30 lots’ of chemotherapy over the past year. 

He recently detailed the tearful moment he was able to get back on his motorbike again for the first time since his cancer diagnosis.

He has previously told how at times he was too ill to walk and unable to ride his motorcycle due to his health struggles. 

Dave recalled the emotional moment as he gave a health update, saying he and Si were left in tears when he was able to ride again.

He told the Yorkshire Post: ‘It’s been hard but I’m not the only one and I’m getting through it and I’m back at work.

‘I’ve had to learn to walk again and ride my bike again, and to get on my bike again with Kingy in the sunshine brought tears to both our eyes.’

Si added: ‘He’s a proper scrapper and he’s on good form. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster for everybody who loves and cares about Dave.’ 

Last month, Dave revealed that he was ‘stable’ and back at work, adding he was ‘really enjoying life at the moment,’ while still having treatment for cancer.

Appearing with Si on BBC Breakfast, Dave said: ‘I’m doing all right. I’m still having treatment but everything seems stable.

‘I’ve been back with my best mate on the bike, filming and doing the books and back to work. So it’s all pretty good, actually. I’m really enjoying life at the moment.’

Dave also opened up about Si’s support during his cancer treatment, revealing that his best friend came round to cook for him.

He recalled: ‘There was one day when I was poorly and he came round to our house and made me mince and dumplings, but he does it properly. 

‘You know, when the bottom of the dumplings are just soft, the top of the dumplings are crusty, and I really… I remember that with mashed potato.’

He reminisced: ‘That was lovely. There was a freezer full and that was great.’

Reflecting on their long-lasting friendship that has survived over three decades, Si said: ‘It just comes naturally to us. We’re good mates, we’re part of each other’s families.

‘It’s just the way we are and we don’t really have to try very hard, because we like each other. 

‘We’re very different people but that’s what friendship is about because constantly you bring something new to the table when we see each other.’

It comes after Dave revealed his first day back at work ended in a ‘man hug and a bit of a kiss’ with Si.

During an appearance on the Heart Breakfast show, host Jamie Theakston asked: ‘How important has it been having your best mate by your side over the last 12 months?’

‘I remember we were just off the Isle of Bute, and we’re on the bikes the first time and I’m following down the road and the familiar shape that I’ve seen for the past 20 years.’

Simon said: ‘It was quite emotional wasn’t it?’

Dave added: ‘Yeah, we got on the ferry and we had a man-hug and a bit of a tear.’

NBA G League player Chance Comanche, 27, was arrested over the weekend in connection with the kidnapping and killing of a woman in Las Vegas earlier this month.

According to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, 23-year-old Marayna Rodgers was last seen on December 6 and reported missing the next day. She was soon found dead, her remains abandoned in the desert in Henderson, Nevada.

Per KLAS, police learned from her boyfriend that Marayna went to Vegas with the intention of making some money as a sex worker. She had set up a meeting with Comanche’s girlfriend, 19-year-old Sakari Harnden (above, inset). This was meant to be for prostitution — but it turned out to be a much more sinister “trick.”

Police say Sakari and Chance planned the murder in advance. In fact, based on text message evidence, Chance — who played with the Stockton Kings, a minor league offshoot of the Sacramento Kings — was involved in plotting the murder during a game! He messaged Sakari on December 2:

“Starting my game. I’ll check half time.”

She replied:

“Okay have fun. Good luck.”

He allegedly wrote to her about sharing the plan with others:

“It’s green. Gave them her full name. SSN. Her IG page. All dat… I told my dawg the whole plan. He just waiting to run it by them.”

It’s unclear if anyone else will face charges. Most damning was the text she sent him explaining the plan! She allegedly wrote:

“Pretend to be a trick and have her come to wherever you at and get her when she show up”

That’s just what they did, according to the arrest report. Chance allegedly confessed to police he snatched up Marayna and strangled her to death in the desert.

But why??

According to the doc, Sakari had allegedly implicated a previous boyfriend in connection to a double murder — and Marayna had spoken about it. Sakari didn’t like it being advertised that she was a snitch:

“Sakari was upset at Marayna for telling other people that Sakari had implicated her boyfriend in the murder.”

And for that, the poor girl had to die?? Sakari was arrested on Wednesday, December 13. Two days later Chance was taken into custody in California — he is expected to be transferred to Nevada, where he and his girlfriend are both facing charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and kidnapping.

The Stockton Kings released him immediately after his arrest on Friday. All that potential thrown away, a woman’s life ended so young, and for what? Spite? Rep? We just don’t understand…

Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness revealed in June that he was battling tonsil cancer, forcing the band to cancel a planned Summer 2023 tour.

Ness stated, “It gives me great pleasure to announce that in April we will be going on a nationwide co-headlining tour with our friends in Bad Religion. Yes, we are back in action and can’t wait for this tour! We did this with them in Australia in 2022 and the shows were amazing!”

“We have also decided in celebration of the 40-year anniversary and re-release of Mommy’s Little Monster that we will be playing the album in its entirety,” he continued. “This should be a very special tour and we are all looking forward to it.”

Bad Religion singer Greg Graffin added, “Bad Religion and Social Distortion played together in 1980. Though we evolved in different directions, we both carried the torch of Southern California punk all along the way. Now we’re so excited to be on the same stage again.”

Kylie Minogue overcame her battle with breast cancer in 2005, but 18 years later the pop icon is still haunted by the ‘trauma’ of her shocking diagnosis. 

In a moving interview with CBS News on Sunday, the Padam Padam hitmaker, 55, broke down in tears as she reflected on the terrifying health scare.

She said the experience will always ‘reside within’ her.

The heartbreaking moment began when interviewer Seth Doane brought up the topic of her lumpectomy and eight-month cycle of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. 

Kylie teared up as she said the memories of those months were ‘still raw’ for her.

‘You have to get on, you have to get on with stuff, but…’ she said, before stopping as she became emotional.

‘The experience of a cancer diagnosis will live in me. It was difficult. It was also amazing.’

When Seth asked her to clarify how her battle with cancer was ‘amazing’, Kylie said: ‘Amazing in that you are very aware of your body, of the love that’s around you, of your capability, all sorts of things.’

Kylie has always been very open about the struggles she faced while battling breast cancer, and even urged her followers in 2018 to donate to UK based charity Breast Cancer Care. 

The songstress was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 while in the middle of her Showgirl: Greatest Hits world tour.

After a partial mastectomy and rounds of radiation and chemotherapy, Kylie was given the all-clear the following year. 

Speaking to Karl Stefanovic about her diagnosis on 60 Minutes in 2014, Kylie admitted her cancer journey had taught her to put herself first.

‘Someone had said to me at the time, “You need to be a little bit selfish.”

‘It’s not in my nature to be selfish but now is the time to do that. Let people take care of you. And… that’s what I did.’

The 83 year old, who is best-known for presenting That's Life!, is currently undergoing treatment for stage four lung cancer and told the BBC that if the treatment does not work, she “might buzz off to Zurich” where assisted dying is legal.

Speaking on Radio 4's The Today podcast, the broadcaster said she didn’t think she would live to see this Christmas and labelled this festive season as “precious”.

Dame Esther spoke about her decision to join Swiss organisation Dignitas, a not-for-profit organisation that provides physician-assisted dying to relieve suffering. She said she was driven to join because she wanted her family’s last memories of her not to be “painful”.

She said: “Because if you watch someone you love having a bad death, that memory obliterates all the happy times". Assisted suicide is currently banned in England and has a maximum prison sentence of 14 years.

Dame Esther continued and said that her family and friends could be put in a “difficult position” if she decided to have an assisted death at Dignitas, as she said: “They would want to go with me, and that means that the police might prosecute them". She added that her family will "support" her decision.

Dame Esther first revealed her cancer news in January this year. At the time, she released a statement which said: "In the last few weeks I have discovered that I am suffering from lung cancer which has now spread. At the moment I am undergoing various tests, to assess the best treatment.

"I have decided not to keep this a secret anymore because I find it difficult to skulk around various hospitals wearing an unconvincing disguise, and because I would rather you heard the facts from me."

Dame Esther has had a successful career as a journalist and broadcaster and is is also the founder of children’s charity Childline, which she established in 1986.

During her time working with the BBC, she met her TV producer husband Desmond Wilcox, who passed away in 2000.

She also appeared inI'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!in 2008 and lasted 16 days in the Australian jungle, finishing in eighth place.

A source told The Sun: ‘The Stones had a very close relationship with Tina and Chanel blew them away when she got up on stage with them.

‘She ended up losing her job on the production because she didn’t want to miss out on the huge opportunity of singing live with The Stones.

‘Chanel has now been booked as one of their backing singers and will be going out on tour with them across America in the spring.

‘It means the world to her and the band were just pleased they could help her out.’

Before performing Gimme Shelter with the Rolling Stones in Milan, Chanel only rehearsed 1969 track once.

After singing to 60,000 of their fans at the city’s San Siro Stadium in June last year, she told Rolling Stone: ‘The sound they made was like trees in a jungle in a storm. It’s primal, like a war.

Chanel announced her departure from the West End musical in which she portrayed Tina Turner weeks later, sharing a note from the production’s manager on social media which said she had been suspended.

Legendary singer Tina was friends with the Rolling Stones before her death in May this year.  

She claimed she even taught Sir Mick how to dance, insisting he learned how to Pony from her, with the move being popular in the sixties. 

Tina died at the age of 83 ‘peacefully’ at her home in Switzerland in May after battling ‘a long illness’.

The Rolling Stones sent fans into frenzy after announcing a North America 2024 tour as tickets were finally put on general sale at the start of this month.

The legendary rock band seem to be keeping their word after guitarist Keith Richards said they will keep making music ‘until they drop’.

Last month the band announced a new Hackney Diamonds tour, with the gigs starting on April 28 in Houston, Texas, at the NRG Stadium marking the 60th anniversary of the Stones’ first US tour in 1964.

The band will wrap up on July 17 at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Mama June is being dragged to court in a custody battle for Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell‘s oldest daughter … and Mama says she’s prepared to duke it out.

According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, the biological father of Anna’s youngest daughter, Kylee, is suing Mama June for custody of Anna’s 11-year-old daughter, Kaitlyn.

Michael Cardwell already took custody of 8-year-old Kylee, who he had with Anna, after her recent death … and he says he’s taken a parental role in Kaitlyn’s life over the years despite not being her biological dad.

In the docs, Michael says Anna fostered and supported his relationship with Kaitlyn when Anna was still alive … he says he behaved as though he were Kaitlyn’s dad and claims Anna was on board with him continuing to spend time with Kaitlyn even after he and Anna separated. He also says he’s paying for Kaitlyn’s education.

Mama June tells TMZ … she hasn’t been served with any legal papers yet but said she “can see him in court.” The reality TV star says Kaitlyn wants to stay with her and her husband, Justin, and insists a change in custody “would be going against her wishes.”

As we first told you … Mama June took custody of Kaitlyn in the wake of Anna’s death and was planning to try to become her legal guardian.

Mama June tells us Anna, who died from cancer, wanted Kaitlyn to live with MJ … and she claims Michael knew the plan beforehand.

Michael claims Kaitlyn’s biological father has never been involved in her life … but Mama June says that means she should be the one to step into the parent role.

In the docs, Michael opens up some old family wounds, saying … “Anna has had a very sorted [sic] relationship with her mother throughout her life and went various periods of time without speaking to her.” He says Mama’s presence in Kaitlyn’s life has also been inconsistent.

But, Mama June’s ripping the brewing custody battle, telling us … “At the end of the day, the girls have lost their mother so why put them through this.”

On Monday, Ellie appeared on This Morning to discuss her win, saying: ‘I feel like it’s never going to feel real. Yesterday I was like, what is going on, and laid in bed all day and went for tea with my family’. 

Italian dance partner Vito admitted that he ‘wanted to eat the whole day’ – which Ellie pointed out was not out of the ordinary. 

Also appearing on the magazine show was Sam Thompson, who won I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here earlier this month, as he spoke about his own win – branding it ‘the most amazing moment I have ever experienced’.

• The controversial rapper is currently on probation stemming from a violent altercation that occurred in a strip club in 2022 

Rapper Blueface is being slammed online after a video emerged showing him bringing a female fan on stage only to shove her into his entourage while apparently shouting: ‘Get her!’ 

The incident occurred at a club event that the Los Angeles rapper was hosting alongside his on-and-off girlfriend Jaidyn Alexis. According to various people on social media who attended the show, Alexis accused the woman of throwing ice at her. 

The ice throwing cannot be seen in any of the videos circulating on social media. 

The clips do show Alexis being physically restrained by security guards as the woman appears to deny that the threw anything. 

It’s not known if the woman has filed a police report of the incident.

Blueface, 26, is currently on probation, stemming from a November 2022 altercation at a strip club in Las Vegas in which he was initially charged with attempted murder. The charge was later reduced to battery and discharging a firearm.

The crowd were shocked to see the rapper apparently throwing the woman into his entourage after he pulled her up on stage

‘I hope [the woman] press charges and where her friends at. We all would have jumped her and Blue. Lol,’ one person wrote in the comments under the video. ‘Wow, miss blue cheese felt disrespected so he man handled a girl who paid to see him, I’m disgusted that he is still walking free, just lock him up already,’ said another.

‘I’m pretty sure I can read the girl’s lips when Jai is signaling her over there like come here. It looks like the girl says: “No it wasn’t me baby.'” 

The Respect My Cryppin’ hitmaker has not spoken publicly about the incident. Over the past 24 hours, Blueface has been calling out fellow rapper Soulja Boy for a fight.

‘There are some people in this room tonight that were with me in the hospital,’ she shared.

‘There is one very important woman who dragged me to the hospital … I passed out on my bathroom floor and I woke up in the ICU,’ she said about Siobhan.

‘When I first became conscious, I saw my six incredible children sitting in the lobby,’ she explained, adding, ‘They were all pretty scared and I didn’t understand what was going on.’

Madonna is a mom to Lourdes Leon, 26, Rocco Ritchie, 23, David Banda, 18, Chifundo ‘Mercy’ James, 17, and twins Stella and Estere, 11.

She said the experience made her think of her own mother, who died from breast cancer at age 30.

‘She was by herself,’ Madonna stated, adding, ‘And I was thinking, “What if I left my children?” That would destroy me to leave my children at this moment in their lives.’

It’s pretty crowded up in the Crypto.com Arena rafters already, but the Los Angeles Lakers will have to make some room — the team is reportedly expected to hang a banner in honor of winning the In-Season Tournament.

The Purple and Gold — who already have 17 championship banners above their home court — will announce the newest addition to the collection as a tribute to LeBron James and Co. beating out the competition in the first-ever regular season event, according to multiple reports.

To avoid confusion, the IST banner won’t look like the Lakers’ usual gold cloths with purple lettering — insider Chris Haynes says it will have a different shape and color, and each year will be added to it whenever they win the NBA Cup.

Of course, the Lakers defeated the Indiana Pacers to win it all on Saturday … and the postgame ceremony was comparable to an NBA Finals victory — with everything from confetti to champagne celebrations and special merch.

Many were wondering if the Lakers would find the victory worthy of getting the same treatment as the other titles … and now we have answers.

It is a truth universally if grudgingly acknowledged that there is a certain type of man who, like a fine wine, only gets better with age.

It is astonishing to think that Brad Pitt, who first made women and probably quite a few men sit up straighter in their cinema seats as the amoral cowboy in the feminist road movie Thelma & Louise, is 60 today. As his (almost) astral twin, I have to say that the Oscar-winning father of six wears his years extremely lightly.

It helps, of course, that he has kept his hair, and has not ‘let himself go’ in the paunch department. This may be due to the fact that he has given up drinking, and has apparently followed a vegan diet for the past six years. But his existence is not entirely joyless as there is a new woman in his life who is only 32. Perhaps she is keeping him young.

There may even have been a few tweakments; but if so they are of the discreet variety: not for Pitt the waxy sheen of Putin, Simon Cowell or Nicole Kidman — the last time I saw Pitt on screen in Babylon, all his facial muscles seemed to be moving.

I suspect the secret to Pitt’s box-fresh at 60 status is down to good genes. I met him once on a film set when he was in his 30s and dating Gwyneth Paltrow. Unlike many film stars, who turn out to be tiny in real life, Pitt looks much the same off screen as on. He is tall, 6ft, and unlike many actors who look uncomfortable when not in character, he seemed very comfortable in his own skin.

Pitt once played Benjamin Button, a character who ages backwards after being born an old man, getting younger as the years pass, and his role seems quite prescient now.

In fact, having gone back to look at his performance in Thelma & Louise, I think I actually prefer him at 60 than at 30. In that film he looked like an angel who had drifted, but now the baby face is happily weathered and he looks gloriously human. He has also graduated from the unfortunate bumfluff period and has ditched the bucket hat.

Unlike Tom Cruise, who looks like a 60-something teenager, Brad Pitt has matured from boyish to manly.

Perhaps one of the reasons that Pitt still looks so good is that he is no longer involved with an actress. His first marriage to America’s sweetheart Jennifer Aniston ended when Pitt fell in love with his co-star Angelina Jolie in Mr & Mrs Smith. They had three biological children together and adopted two more (she adopted one child before their relationship, who Brad later adopted). Their marriage famously ended in acrimony — and it seems likely that the marriage breakdown was precipitated by Pitt’s drinking.

He has talked publicly about going to AA, and how he has found common ground with his co star in Legends Of The Fall, Anthony Hopkins, over their mutual addiction problems. But all this turmoil doesn’t seem to have left a mark on Pitt’s face. If by 60 a man has the face he deserves, then Pitt must have been extremely good in a past life.

Pitt’s new squeeze Ines de Ramon is, apart from being 29 years younger, a jewellery designer, which sounds reasonably un-neurotic. The world loves a movie star combo like Brangelina, but the double dose of attention is a huge strain on the relationship unless one half of the duo is prepared to accept lower billing.

When Jolie and Pitt met they pretty much had equal billing as stars who could ‘open’ a movie, but while Pitt has gone on to do some of his best work since their split, and an Academy Award for his hilarious turn as a stunt man in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Jolie’s last blockbuster was the Disney prequel to Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent in 2014.

To be married to someone who is as famous good-looking and ambitious as you are, is not likely to end well.

As he famously said, ‘Why go out to eat, when you can have steak at home?’

I wonder if Pitt still considers himself a sex symbol at 60? For my generation of women he will always be in the top ten and he has aged much better than my other big crush, Russell Crowe.

I realise that I would be the first to howl with outrage if I were to read an article by a man that classified female stars by how well they are ageing.

Talking about Pitt in terms of his looks is demeaning and takes no account of acting skill, business acumen and formidable philanthropic clout, but I suspect that Pitt couldn’t care less. If you are born with that level of genetic advantage as a man you probably don’t worry too much.

I have met very few beautiful women who aren’t at some level insecure about their attractiveness — as Rita Hayworth, the famous red-headed Hollywood star who played a vamp in Gilda said, ‘They go to bed with Gilda, but they wake up with me.’

Beautiful men don’t worry about being objectified in the same way because they know in their hearts that they deserve their good looks. It’s a man thing.

So Happy Birthday Brad. Stick to the kale and enjoy your big day, safe in the knowledge that you’ve still got it. Maybe you are making a lot of midlife men insecure, but somehow I doubt it.

• The veteran star is now on the mend and back in his Los Angeles home 

James Bond star George Lazenby is in recovery after being hospitalised for a brain injury following a fall.

The 84-year-old actor, who fell at his home last month, was rushed to hospital before being cared for at a California nursing home for the past few weeks.

However, according to his management team, the veteran star is now on the mend and back in his Los Angeles home.

A member of his team from Anders Frejdh Talent Management took to Twitter to update fans on his health, writing: ‘I’m very happy to report our client George Lazenby has safely returned home.

‘After an accidental fall at home in November leading to a head injury, he’s rehabilitated well thanks to the great team at Beverly West Healthcare for which I, his family and friends are grateful for.

The actor appeared on stage to be interviewed as part of Australian tour, The Music of James Bond, where he upset the Perth audience with sexually explicit anecdotes

Lazenby, who played 007 in the 1969 film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, had been keeping a low profile after being kicked off of a music tour last year for making a string of ‘creepy’ and ‘explicit’ remarks during an interview.

The actor appeared on stage to be interviewed as part of Australian tour, The Music of James Bond, where he upset the Perth audience with sexually explicit anecdotes. He was then dropped from all future performances of the tour.

One attendee told Australian radio station 6PR: ‘He spent all of the interview just talking basically about his sexual conquests, he was homophobic, he swore, he certainly wasn’t talking about his Bond movies, he downplayed the Queen, a day after she died.

‘At one point he named an Australian cricketer whose daughter he was chasing and he said he dragged the daughter out of the pub and put her in the car in London, which is horrific… he named women he had slept with, and there were children in the audience, and a lot of families who had brought their kids probably to their first classical music concert…

‘It was creepy, it was offensive… He was disgusting, there’s no two ways about it.’

Lazenby, who was eventually jeered off stage, said he was ‘saddened to hear’ that his stories had caused offence as he only ever wished to ‘entertain’.

‘I personally have friends within my close circle who are gay and I would never wish to offend anyone,’ he said. ‘Having been surrounded by strong women all my life, I have always admired and respected women and their wishes.

‘It was never my intention to make hurtful or homophobic comments and I am truly sorry if my stories that I have shared many times were taken that way,’ he added in his statement.

Years & Years frontman Olly Alexander has confirmed he will represent the UK at next year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden and has promised to ‘fly the flag for the UK in the gayest way possible’.

The singer, 33, made the announcement during Saturday’s live final of Strictly Come Dancing as the audience cheered along. 

After storming through the gold curtain to announce the voting terms and conditions for the dancing show’s final, Olly then shared his news as Claudia said: ‘On behalf of everyone we are so lucky to have you. 

‘I know everything’s a secret but can you tell us anything?’ 

Olly replied: ‘I’m planning it now, it’s going to be spectacular. I love Eurovision, I’m so so so excited, it’s going to be great.’

‘I’ve wanted to do this for a long time and it feels like the right moment to start releasing music under my own name. 

‘I’m determined to give it everything I’ve got and put on an excellent and unforgettable performance for you all!’

BBC bosses are no doubt hoping to turn the UK’s fortunes after Mae Muller failed to impress audiences earlier this year at the contest in Liverpool where she finished second from last. 

According to The Sun Olly has pitched a catchy song penned by producer Danny L Harle, the mastermind behind Dua Lipa’s latest hit Houdini. 

A source told the publication:  ‘It’s a dream come true for Olly. Things aren’t quite locked in but he is a favourite with bosses.

‘Olly has said for ages he wants to have a crack at it — and after teaming up with Danny for the song he thinks we have a great shot.

Adding: ‘He is aware people say that no established act in their right mind would go on the show due to the UK’s track record but as far as he is concerned that’s just ­snobbery.’

Sophie, 44, is an established artist with hits such as Murder On The Dancefloor, and she reached a new audience during lockdown with her successful Kitchen Disco videos, which landed her a Radio 2 show of the same name.

The mother of five is to be sounded out over taking part in next year’s show, as BBC bosses are set to regain full control of the selection process for the UK’s entry.

In 2021, they handed the role to an external company in a bid to reverse the poor performance of Britain’s entrants.

One music industry source told The Mail at the time: ‘At the moment there is only one artist on the BBC’s list for Eurovision 2024, and they don’t intend to add to it. 

‘Sophie Ellis-Bextor is seen as the ideal fit for the contest – she’s a great singer and performer, and she is already known to audiences, both straight and gay, across Europe. The criticism the BBC has received over the decision to pick Mae Muller this year has been quite savage.’

Mae was picked to perform in last weekend’s Eurovision final by global management company TaP Music, who also chose 2022 entrant Sam Ryder, who finished second.

Doubts over the singer had been growing before the final, with her voice criticised as not being strong enough to carry the track she performed, I Wrote A Song. Her rehearsal was littered with errors and hit by sound issues.

A series of old quotes, in which she suggested she hated the UK, alienated some.

There was also controversy when she said that Boris Johnson shouldn’t have had a hospital bed when he was struck down with Covid.

It also emerged that she had applied for a German passport, which she said she wanted to help her cut down on extra paperwork when performing in the EU.

The superstar singer was named the biggest celebrity CO2 polluter of the year in 2022, and she looks set to take the title for a second consecutive year as she squeezes in quality time with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

Swift, 34, has not only flown back and forth between New York and Kansas City, but has also made trips in-between performances in South America for her ongoing Eras World Tour as her romance with NFL star continues to develop.

Based on statistics tracked by Taylor Swift’s Jets on Instagram, the hitmaker’s trips have produced 138 tons of CO2 emission to date.

The singer would need to plant 2,282 trees and allow these to grow for 10 years in order to offset the environmental damage caused by her flights.

The 34-year-old hitmaker has made more than 12 journeys in the past three months alone, according to Taylor Swift’s Jets, producing 138 tons of C02 emission to date

It is the equivalent of the energy used by 17 houses in one year, or the electricity use of 26.9 homes for one year, according to the Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator. 

Swift owns two multi-million dollar planes: a Dassault Falcon 7x, registered N621MM under Island Jet Inc. and a Dassault Falcon 900, registered N898TS under SATA LLFC.

Both companies are tied to Taylor Swift Productions in Nashville, Tennessee, according to documents from the Tennessee Secretary of State.

After she came out on top in the 2022 pollution rankings, Taylor’s representative hit back, claiming Swift often lets other people take her Falcon 7X jet on jaunts around the world.

However, there is no question she has been onboard the jet during the many flights between Kansas City, New York and several other stops since September.

The journeys have used up 12,622 gallons of jet fuel, which is calculated to be worth a whopping $70,779.

In her biggest trip to date, Swift flew from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Kansas City – with a stop over in Tampa, Florida.

The journey used 4,151 gallons of fuel, which is believed to be worth $23, 250.

Swift also travels aboard a Falcon 900 jet. Both planes are registered in Nashville, Tennessee

A spokesperson for Swift told DailyMail.com she was working to lessen her jets’ carbon emissions by traveling less frequently than in previous years.

‘Before the tour kicked off in March of 2023, Taylor purchased more than double the carbon credits needed to offset all tour travel,’ the spokesperson explained.

The excess credits means Taylor could have accounted for more than enough to cover her latest romance springing up in the middle of her sell-out tour, with her trips to support Kelce upping her carbon emissions alongside her planned tour travels.

DailyMail.com previously revealed that Taylor had temporarily moved in to her boyfriend’s $6 million Kansas City mansion while on a break from the tour, with a moving truck pictured outside last month.

A separate source claimed that the pair were using it as a ‘practice run,’ with Taylor keen to move in for good with her ‘soulmate’ if all goes well. 

Swift doesn’t return to the stage until February 7, when she takes her tour to Japan.

Indeed, the singer will be taking her Eras Tour to Europe, Asia, and Australia in 2024. She also announced her intention to tour again in the US next year. 

The couple are said to be ‘obsessed’ with each other, with the pair flying to and from his games and her concerts to spend time together.

‘While Taylor is not officially moving in with Travis, her friends and family believe she isn’t exactly moving out either,’ a source close to the Blank Space singer told DailyMail.com exclusively.

Taylor was first seen watching Travis play with the Kansas City Chiefs alongside his mother Donna in September. She has since flown back and forth to watch several games

‘We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.

‘By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.’ 

When she traveled back east from the first outing with Travis, Taylor rented a Hawker Beechcraft 4000, instead of taking one of the two jets she owns.

The Beechcraft burns around 2,600 pounds of fuel over its first hour of flight time and subsequent hours are 1,800 to 1,900 pounds.

Since then, the star has used her own jets in order to make sure she is around to support Travis’ team during games in Kansas City, New Jersey and Denver.
