Aldi is selling a dupe of La Prairie wrinkle reducing face serum for over £600 cheaper | The Sun

SHOPPERS are running to Aldi to grab their latest round of beauty dupes, including a dupe of La Prairie's skin caviar for over £600 cheaper.

TikTok user @heyitshels highlighted the dupes via a video posted to her account, where she often posts bargain finds.

Sharing a clip of herself picking up the Aldi dupe, the she said: "La Prairie has the most ridiculous prices for skincare. Their serum is over £600 and in here, it's only £8."

La Prairie's skin caviar, which is currently on the website for £625 is made out of actual caviar (fish eggs) and promises to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The description on the website adds that the product provides an 'immediate lifting sensation' and 'enhances the appearance of firmness and elasticity.

The Aldi dupe is called Lacura Caviar Gold Serum and is priced at just £8.49.

A MAN has revealed how he earns £20,000 doing an easy side hustle that doesn’t require any qualifications.

Kevin Liu, 28, is a pet-sitter in his free time and uses the extra cash to supplement his salary working in tech.

Kevin was inspired to do a side hustle when he was laid off from his job during the pandemic.

Speaking to Insider, he said: “After that, I started to think about how I could diversify my income stream to be more financially secure.

“I wanted to make sure that if I ever got laid off again, I'd still be able to cover my basic living costs such as rent and food. And, if it didn't happen again, I'd have some savings.

“It was during that time that I saw a YouTube video about pet sitting. While I was busy with my studies, I kept it in the back of my mind, because I loved the fact you could be paid for something that was fun.”

In June 2020, Kevin joined the pet-sitting app Rover and set his radius for six miles around his home in Austin, Texas.

He got his first booking within a month, which was looking after a puppy in a one-bedroom flat.

Kevin, who works as a project design lead, didn’t have any experience looking after pets but the fact he worked from home all day went down well with the owner.

He initially charged £20 for the day, but realised that his prices weren’t high enough as he was left with £11 after fees and taxes.

Kevin raised his prices as he got more experienced, and made sure he was quick to respond to messages.

This helped him rank higher in Rover search results.

He quickly gained numerous bookings for people heading away for the weekend or going on holiday.

One of the best perks was getting to stay in some incredible houses.

He added: “I enjoyed meeting the people and the pets, and I also got to stay in some beautiful homes. I stayed in five-bedroom homes with infinity pools, slept in cliff-top houses with amazing views, and even booked one three-story mansion with an elevator.”

When his tech job got more busy, he realised he only had time for people who had more than one pet, to make the money worthwhile.

One of his easiest pets was a snake and five geckos as the snake only needed one meal a week, and the geckos needed a daily spritz of water.

Meanwhile, his longest job was 28 days, and Kevin went the extra mile and not only looked after an elderly Shih Tzu, but also cleaned the house, watered plants and collected Amazon parcels.

FINDING flattering and festive outfits as a plus-size person can be challenging.

One brand has shared its latest look, a sparkly corset that's perfect for Christmas Day.

In her video, Emma (@hausdahlia) modeled the item from her brand Haus Dahlia.

The fashion expert admitted that her curves left her feeling at a loss when picking a holiday look.

SWISS chocolates, French perfume and Egyptian cotton bedding top the international Christmas present wish list.

A poll of 2,000 adults who celebrate the festive season, found 88 per cent love getting goodies from abroad – with many hoping to unwrap a leather wallet or handbag from Italy on the 25th.

One in four would love to receive maple syrup from Canada, and 21 per cent have their eye on manuka honey from New Zealand.

Others want to unwrap a Spanish olive oil set, flower bulbs from the Netherlands, and speciality beers from Belgium.

The research was commissioned by HSBC UK, and Global Money data from the bank shows customers have been spending the most money on online purchases from the USA in the twelve months since it launched, followed by Spain, France and the UAE.

Pella Frost, head of everyday banking at the brand, said: “During the holiday season, there's something truly magical about receiving gifts from abroad.

It also emerged 43 per cent of Christmas lovers have gifted presents from abroad in the past, with 82 per cent of these picking them up on their travels.

While 45 per cent went online to find that special something, the research, conducted via OnePoll, found.

In fact, 30 per cent are planning on wrapping up a foreign present this Christmas for a loved one, with France being the leading country UK shoppers are turning to for gift inspiration.

It is followed by Italy and the USA – with the average shopper spending nearly £90 on items from abroad.

However, many have encountered barriers when it comes to shopping abroad, with 73 per cent finding the cost of delivery restrictive and 64 per cent worried about the time it takes to arrive.

While 45 per cent were unsure if sites were trusted retailers.

And 38 per cent have encountered additional charges because they haven’t paid in the local currency.

Pella Frost, from HSBC UK Global Money, which allows customers to convert, hold or send money to more than 200 countries and regions worldwide without paying the bank’s fees, added: “It’s clear from our research that customers love the idea of giving and receiving gifts from outside the UK – but typically there are cost barriers.

“At a time when every penny counts, we want to make sure shoppers can spend their money globally without facing additional fees at the checkout.”

HOPING to look good and feel supported while getting a workout in, a gym rat purchased a bandeau bra from Skims.

She said the fitness top made her back muscles look “insane.”

After seeing multiple girls rock bandeaus at the gym, fitness coach Brooklyn Hill (@brooklynhillfit) wanted to give it a try.

“So, I did a thing. I took the plunge, and I got these Skims bandeaus,” she began in the clip.

Because she specializes in weightlifting, she wanted a fit that accentuated her upper body muscles.

“And I see all the gym girlies wearing them and they look so cute, and it makes the back gains look so good," she explained of her reasoning.

Still, she was hesitant about the Skims undergarment, as she said she “tried bandeaus at the gym once and it was traumatizing.”

That’s why she was going to put Skims “to the ultimate test,” doing various workouts to see how the $28 bra holds up.

“We’re going to give it a go," she said.

While he works with some of the biggest names in show business, the hair pro still has some budget-friendly tips.

In his video, Clayton Hawkins (@itsclaytonhawkins) revealed the cheap alternatives he uses to pricey haircare products.

The TikToker, who has worked with everyone from Olivia Rodrigo to Hunger Games star Rachel Zegler, explained why he loves each item.

"Here are my biggest dupes for expensive hair products, I get sent everything, I’ve tried it all, and here are my honest opinions," he said.

For his first recommendation, Clayton advised his followers to invest in the $36 Living Proof Dry Volume and Texture Spray from Amazon.

My feet don’t last long when I’m in heels, so if I’m going to wear any it has to have a platform to give my ankles some added support.

I might have gone a little bit off-piste, with a darker red boot instead of a little red shoe, but after 10 attempts to style up an outfit with red ballet flats, I realised that maybe they just aren’t me and that is totally OK!

This darker shade of red feels richer, sexier and more expensive, which I love!

I also love hi-lo dressing – a Cos silky maxi-dress mixed with a man-ish Arket overcoat, Zara statement earrings with a woolly H&M balaclava, Next stiletto boots with a Boden checked shopper.

Just add a berry red lip and I am done.

In her video, Julianna (@boote_brand) modeled the pants for her followers, pointing out the flattering features that have helped to boost her body confidence.

"I just want to come on and talk about how amazing these leggings are postpartum and for C-section mommies or any mom who just gave birth," Julianna said.

A PROPERTY expert has revealed the five 'easy adjustments' you can make to stop condensation and mould in your home.

Many of us are struggling with condensation now the weather has dropped – but a few simple changes could help banish it.

James Berry, Deputy Chief Executive of the Property Care Association, revealed there were some simple and free tricks to help keep your home moisture free.

Speaking to Landlord Today, he said: "Issues with condensation and mould are usually more apparent in winter as the external air temperature is low.

“Mould is often the first indication that there is an issue with high humidity but condensation can present itself as water running down internal surfaces, leading to staining, peeling decoration and rot.

A simple fix is to turn the heating on – but many of us would prefer to avoid rising energy bills.

Baths

We all love submerging into a hot bath when it gets colder – but the way you run it could make all the difference in banishing condensation.

Running cold water in the bath before hot can reduce steam by 90% preventing excess moisture in the air.

For showers, the home expert recommend opening the bathroom window and keeping the door shut until the steam has gone.

Drying Clothes

With so many of us trying to save money, it's common practice to dry clothes indoors with an airing rack.

However, if possible, try to get them outside when it is dry to prevent the moisture of the clothes from sticking to windows.

Windows

Opening the windows in winter might be the last thing you want to do, however, it can make all the difference.

When possible, keep them open to allow any excess moisture in the home to escape and prevent mould buildup.

Vacuums

It can be useful to use a vacuum and dust out window vents to make sure they are working properly to allow for better air circulation.

Cooking

There's no getting out of cooking – but with a simple adjustment you could prevent condensation and mould in the kitchen.

James suggested putting lids on pans and turning the heat down once the water has boiled.

After undergoing plastic surgery, the mother's cosmetic results were on the line.

Alexis (@mommashive) filmed herself detailing the BBL blunder in a video on TikTok.

"I sat on my butt accidentally after my BBL at Disney,"the text read.

She explained how the issue occurred at the amusement park.

"I just royally f**ked up, I forgot my pillow, I got locked into the seat, and I had to kind of sit on my butt, hold my body up," she said.

"I'm only three and a half weeks post-op," she added. "That was rough and painful."

A Brazilian butt lift refers to a cosmetic procedure which transfers fat cells from another area of the body, typically the midsection, to the buttocks to create a curvier sillhouette.

While different plastic surgeons have their own post-operative recommendations for optimal results, many agree waiting at least six weeks before sitting down again.

Expert shares tips to ensure knitwear stays intact after washing

Knitwear can have very specific cleaning requirements, and sometimes, taking precautions is not enough.

That’s why an expert has revealed how often to wash knitwear so it maintains its colour, and shared what to do when knitwear shrinks.

TV cleaning expert, Lynsey, AKA Queen of Clean, told SilkFred: “First things first, it’s important to know that it is best to wash your knitted clothing items every two to three wears.”

“You can get away with washing your knitwear less frequently than say your t-shirts and shirts, as usually you often wear a base layer underneath your knitwear which should absorb any oil or moisture.”

“However, washing them every three to four wears may be risky as the garments may have picked up numerous germs and bacterias, particularly if you’ve been wearing them outside of the house.”

While it might seem like common sense, many people overlook the importance of following care label instructions, Lynsey added.

Always take the time to check the care label, as you might be surprised by what is designated as hand washable versus machine washable.

If your item is machine washable, it’s advisable to use a laundry detergent specifically designed for knitwear. Additionally, opt for the delicate or knitwear setting on your washing machine to ensure gentle cleaning.

To further protect your knitwear, consider accumulating your items and washing them together.

Be cautious not to mix them with other items which could potentially cause damage, such as those with zips or bra clasps. This simple practice can go a long way in preserving the quality of your knitwear.

Lynsey also shared her handy hack that might help revive your items if they shrunk in the washing machine or tumble dryer.

She advised to soak the knitwear in cold water with a bit of fabric conditioner mixed in, allowing it to soak overnight. The next morning, wring it out gently and try to stretch it back into its original shape.

When dealing with colours, it’s essential to take a few precautions. Always wash your items inside out, and consider using a colour catcher, which can be easily found on Amazon or in supermarkets.

Contrary to a common misconception, fabric conditioners can actually help preserve bright colours, making them last longer, but it’s crucial to use the right amount, as excessive use may lead to fading.

Colour fading or bleeding often occurs due to washing items at excessively high temperatures, which strip the colour. To prevent dark-coloured knitwear from fading, try adding some sea salt to your wash.
