You’re a dad, Harry! As Daniel Radcliffe is welcomed into the ever-growing Potter parents’ club – a look at all the stars of the wizard franchise who have had children

Daniel Radcliffe has become a father for the first time after welcoming a child with his long-term partner Erin Drake.

The Harry Potter star, 33, who has been dating the American actress, 38, for over a decade, stepped out with the new arrival in New York City on Monday. 

The actor looked every inch the doting dad as he pushed the newborn in a pram while Erin followed closely behind.

Daniel’s new arrival means he has now joined several of his former Harry Potter child stars in becoming a parent.

Rupert Grint

Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the franchise, was the first of the core three child stars to welcome a child. 

The actor, 34, and his partner Georgia Groome, 31, welcomed their daughter Wednesday in May 2020.

Six months after their baby’s arrival, Rupert then joined Instagram to reveal they had named their daughter Wednesday.

Harlow native Rupert wrote in an accompanying caption: ‘Hey Instagram….only 10 years late, but here I am.

‘Grint on the Gram! Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint. Stay safe, Rupert.’ (sic)

Rupert and Georgia, who is famed for her role in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, have been together since 2011.

Bonnie Wright  

Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter films, announced on Friday that she is expecting her first child with her husband Andrew Lococo. 

Though she has not yet welcomed her child, the actress, 32, announced her baby news on Instagram this week with a sweet post.

She shared gorgeous snaps of herself lovingly cradling her blossoming bump as she cuddled up to her beau, 38.

The couple, who wed in March 2022, gushed that they ‘couldn’t wait to meet’ their baby later this year as they posed on a gorgeous hill with spectacular views.

Bonnie, who played the love interest of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley’s sister, looked radiant in a brown linen dress.

Opting to go make-up free for the snaps, she wore her auburn tresses loose and accessorised with a selection of silver jewellery.

Meanwhile, businessman Andrew cut a casual figure in a T-shirt jeans and baseball cap for the outdoor snaps. 

Bonnie penned: ‘We’re having a baby! So excited to share this beautiful land with them. What a wild and humbling journey pregnancy is, transforming to make space for new life’. 

‘Andrew and I can’t wait to meet our baby later this year and become parents’.

Referencing a light that appeared across one snap she said: ‘It feels like they’re coming to say hello in the little rainbow orb across my belly’. 

Fellow Harry Potter star James Phelps, who played her on screen brother Fred Weasley, wrote: ‘Congratulations’. 

Jessie Cave

Jessie Cave, who played Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter films, has the largest brood of any of the film’s younger stars.

The actress, 35, and her partner Alfie Brown have four children, Donnie, seven, Margot, four, Tennesse, two, and Becker, 13 months.

Jessie regularly documents her family life on her Instagram although she keeps her children’s faces hidden. 

The star was in hospital after testing positive for Covid during her third trimester, telling fans she felt like she was ‘hit by a tonne of bricks’.

However the star made a full recovery and welcomed son Becker in March 2022.

Scarlett Byrne

Scarlett Byrne, who played Pansy Parkinson in the Harry Potter films, shares three children with Hugh Hefner’s son Cooper.

The actress, 32, and the Playboy heir, 31, are parents to three daughters; Betsy, two, and twins Marigold and Blossom who turned one in March. 

Cooper, who married Scarlett in November 2019, took to Instagram to share a photo of the happy family as they celebrated their twins’ first birthday.

He wrote: ‘This weekend we hosted a gathering of friends and family to celebrate our daughters’ first birthday. 

‘A very special occasion. Blossom & Marigold—Mommy and Daddy love you so very much. Happiest of birthday to you both.’

Afshan Azad

Afshan Azad, who played Padma Patil in the franchise, is another member of the franchise’s younger cast who has become a parent.

The model revealed in an Instagram post in July 2021 that she and her husband Nabil Kazi had welcomed a daughter.

The actress has chosen to keep her child’s face hidden on social media but regularly shares snaps with the tot and her partner.

Devon Murray 

Devon Murray, who played Seamus Finnigan, announced he had become a father in January 2021 when his girlfriend Shannon McCaffrey Quinn welcomed their son Cooper.

In an Instagram post, he wrote: ‘Yesterday 2/1/21 my life changed forever. Shannon delivered our beautiful little boy Cooper Michael Murray weighing 6lbs 10oz. 

‘Both are doing amazing now after a very long labour and a scary few minutes at the end. It still hasn’t sunk in just yet that we have our very own little boy. 

‘I can’t wait to make the most amazing memories with Shannon and Cooper as we begin our little family. I’m so amazed by Shannon and she is now my Hero.

‘I’m so proud of her for everything she has gone through. I can’t wait to have you both home. It’s so hard having to leave you both. I will love you both forever until my last breathe [sic].’
