Ferne McCann welcomed her second daughter this week and revealed her somewhat unusual name Finty Francis Haines.
The star explained she had always loved the name and saw when she typed it into Google that it was also the name of Judi Dench’s daughter.
Speaking to OK! Magazine she said ‘I’ve always loved it and never heard it anywhere else before. I just feel so connected to the name – she came out and she was just Finty. I think she sounds like a character out of Bridgerton.’
It might be unusual but Ferne isn’t the first and won’t be the last celebrity to name their offspring something unusual.

Explaining the choice of their fist child’s name on Oprah the actress credited Chris with the suggestion of the name choice. ‘It sounded so sweet and it conjures such a lovely picture for me, you know apples are so sweet and they’re wholesome and it’s biblical and I just thought it sounded so lovely,’ Paltrow said.

Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury
The Love Island couple built up the suspense for their first born’s name after she teased on her YouTube that it was a name she’d never heard before.
Turning off the comment section for her name reveal post the couple confirmed her name was Bambi.
Talking to her fans on YouTube she said: ‘I think because we’d always known our first baby girl would be called Bambi we got so used to that being her name and, to us, it wasn’t really unusual anymore.’
But she recognised ‘I know it definitely is unusual and unique and not going to be to everyone’s taste.’

It was a bit of a back and forth with this one, but in June this year Kylie officially changed her son’s birth certificate, legally naming her second born Aire.
The star kept her fans on tender hooks, originally naming her son Wolf before revealing to fans a month after he was born that this was no longer his name.

Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson stuck with the ‘x’ sound of her first son Rox with her second son naming him Oax.
Despite confusion on how the name was pronounced, Marnie confirmed on Instagram that it was said as ‘Oaks’.

Love Island winner Dani Dyer caused a stir when she named her fist born Santiago and opened up about receiving a lot of criticism.
Defending the name on her Instagram she wrote: ‘My mum is half-Spanish and she said the name to me a few times.
‘Then I see [sic] it on a programme and I fell in love with it. Love that it’s really unusual and really doesn’t bother me when people say they don’t like it.’ She revealed he would go by the nickname Santi.

Keeping their family very private, the singer revealed earlier this year that the couple’s second daughter was called Jupiter.
