After mourning Big for the first six episodes of And Just Like That…, Carrie is forced to return to the dating world – however the big comeback is in fact for professional purposes.
The new episode, entitled Sex And The Widow, which hit screens on Thursday, sees the writer, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, put pen to paper to document the agony of being widowed for her memoir, yet when she is told the book is too dark, her publisher urges her to go on a date to make for a fitting epilogue.
While Carrie’s boozy return to the dating world is chronicled, Miranda, depicted by Cynthia Nixon, is left struggling with her non-existent sex life, which drives her back into the arms of Carrie’s boss, non-binary Ché Diaz, played by Sara Ramirez, who she lauds for giving her the best sex of her life during their extramarital dalliance.
Away from Carrie’s dating and Miranda’s sex life, Kristen Davis’ character Charlotte is seen negotiating her way through tough spots in her marriage as she scolds Harry for ‘mansplaining’.

The agent responded: ‘But you’re known for writing Sex And The City. I’m afraid if we publish this as is, your readers are gonna jump out the window clutching their tubs of Häagen-Dazs.’

Still stunned, Carrie asks: ‘You want me to go on a date?’, before it’s suggested that the date is merely ‘one page – not a chapter – just an epilogue for a glimmer of hope’.

Charlotte is dragged away by Harry – who again brings up her lack of apology. As he grumbles over the fact Charlotte has said sorry ’12 times since they arrived’, she hits back by saying women are forced to apologise constantly and tennis is ‘the one place she doesn’t have to say sorry’.
She says: ‘As Demi Lovato would say, “Sorry, not sorry!”‘
Carrie then tells Miranda: ‘I’m just gonna have to go back in and tell Amanda I didn’t find that glimmer of hope. I guess my book is dead too. Darn. My sad book keeps getting sadder’.

It was like two dead people trying to get it on. Like zombie sex’. Carrie grills: ‘Are you sure you guys wouldn’t go back to a therapist.’
Ché then takes to the stage for a set – much to Miranda’s delight, as she storms away from her conversation with Carrie, who looks around and spots her date from the previous evening.

It’s stated on stage: ‘Ok, thanks for the clarification Charlotte. Why don’t you come up and help me Carrie’. Things then turn very awkward as nobody puts in a starting bid – with a reveller pointing out: ‘We’re all married’.
To fill the awkwardness, Charlotte begins voting against herself, going for $700, then $800, before Carrie bids $1000 for herself. Yet Peter then enters and bids $1050.
