Andy Cohen appeared on “The Wendy Williams Show” for the first time in six years on Thursday —on what happened to be Williams’ 55th birthday—and started off with a bang.
“Your husband [Kevin Hunter] was not my biggest fan,” Cohen, 51, said. “I’ve been cheering you on for the last six years.”
He added, “I’m so excited about Wendy in the city.”
Cohen, clearly referring to Williams’ divorce filing from Hunter, continued to praise her for her newfound independence.
“Life has really changed,” Williams, who now lives in New York City after leaving her New Jersey family home, shared.
An insider previously told Page Six that her show’s staff never got along with Hunter because of his controlling nature.
“People didn’t like Kevin because he controlled access to Wendy,” the source said, “and now that he’s not there it’s chaotic in that people can walk up to Wendy now and before you couldn’t.”
Cohen also opened up about life as a dad to baby boy Ben and shared that he has a full-time night nurse who lives with him who he found through A-list pal Kelly Ripa. Though Williams said Cohen can still party at night because his baby is so young, the “Watch What Happens Live” host admitted he’s too old for nightlife.
“I’ve been Andy in the city for a long time,” he explained. “I was ready for Andy on the couch with a kid.”
