The sight of Ant McPartlin's triumphant return to I'm A Celebrity – with girlfriend Anne Marie Corbett by his side – is likely to come as a bitter sting for ex Lisa Armstrong and the demise of their 11 year marriage which is still being picked over.
In the days leading up to Ant's departure to Oz, insiders revealed divorce talks between the pair broke down.
It is now looking increasingly likely their £62million break-up will be settled in court – potentially leading to full exposure of what went on behind closed doors.
Sources have blamed Ant's booze battle, gruelling work schedules and the two stars simply growing apart for their relationship crumbling.
Another insider claimed weeks spent apart at the end of each year was a huge factor in Ant and Lisa parting ways after 23 years as a couple.
Working as chief make-up artist on Strictly Come Dancing , Lisa is guaranteed to be locked into commitments from August till December. Her busiest time always coincided with Ant jetting off to Australia to film I'm A Celeb with his best pal Declan Donnelly.
This year marked a change in tradition, as for the first time Ant has been able to fly out girlfriend Anne Marie to enjoy the five star experience with him, something he was never able to do with Lisa.
Last week Anne Marie was seen out celebrating Ant's 44th birthday in Australia alongside Dec and his wife Ali Astall.
A source told The Sun: "Because Lisa was working on Strictly, she could never accompany Ant to Australia, which meant they'd often go over a month without seeing each other.
"This put a strain on their relationship. It must be hard for Lisa to see Anne-Marie flying out to stay in a five-star luxury hotel with Ant when she was never able to do so."
The source added that Ant had always wanted to support Lisa in her work but equally wanted her to be there for him.
The clashing schedules are said to be 'just the start' of their marriage woes, alleged to have been simmering for six years.
The pair met as teenagers at a gig at Newcastle City Hall in 1994, with friends describing the chemistry between them as 'electric'.
Lisa hailed Ant as 'the love of her life' and the pair supported each other as their careers grew.
As Ant and Dec became national treasures with a string of hit TV shows under their belt, Lisa and Ant became regulars on the showbiz circuit.
From awards ceremonies to soirées with their showbiz friends, the couple were never far from each others side.
Ant eventually popped the question after 11 years together while on a romantic break to Dubai.
But in January 2018, months after Lisa supported Ant through his stint in rehab a spokesperson for the Geordie star announced that their marriage was over.
Their union officially ended in October this year however, Lisa has reportedly rejected a proposed settlement of £31million – half of Ant's fortune.
Instead, Lisa's said to be wanting her day in court and has so far refused to sign Ant's non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that would be part of any financial settlement her legal team thrashes out with his.
It could prove controversial as only last week Lisa savagely liked several tweets slating Ant and his new girlfriend.
