The Northman screening comes after Anya Taylor-Joy and Alexander Skarsgård appeared on Tuesday morning’s instalment of Lorraine to talk to step-in host Ranvir Singh about their latest venture.
Anya, whose filmography and television credits include The Queen’s Gambit, Peaky Blinders and Last Night In Soho, joked that she was ‘very annoying’ on set, while Alexander explained the lengths he went to in a bid to get into character.
Anya, who plays Olga in the Viking feature, said: ‘I actually had the time of my life. I was very annoying on set! I am a lover of nature, so I was flitting around like a fairy.’

Alexander, 45, takes on the leading role of Viking prince Amleth on a mission to seek justice for his father.
He said: ‘I can’t really take credit for the particular story. I had a dream of making a big epic Viking movie.
‘It’s exciting as an actor to be part of the journey from the beginning, which is quite rare. It’s been really inspiring to be there from the genesis of the project.’
Swedish native Alexander admitted to having five breakfasts in a day in order to resemble a ‘bear.’
‘I tried to basically put on some weight so I would look a bit more like a bear. I had five meals for breakfast!’ he confessed, while Anya complimented, ‘No one works as hard as this man. I cannot say enough about how much effort and love he put into this role.’

Anya hinted that filming, which took place in various locations in Northern Ireland and the Republic Of Ireland, could be intense, as she explained: ‘Once you’ve finished the day, if you’ve got the shot you feel accomplished.’
Nicole Kidman and Alexander’s paths crossed during filming, following their roles in drama series Big Little Lies.
The award-winning actress plays Amleth’s mother, Queen Gudrún, and Alexander described their reunion as ‘an absolute dream.’
‘It’s a very different relationship from when Nicole and I worked together on Big Little Lies. She is a force of nature; she is a lovely person to work with,’ he said.
The Northman is set for release on 15 April 2022.
