Armie Hammer’s estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers says she is ‘shocked, heartbroken and devastated’ as she continues to ‘process’ revelations about her ex’s alleged taste for hardcore BDSM sex.
The actress, 38, made her first official statement about Armie’s personal scandal via her Instagram on Monday, sharing a serene image of a beach, likely in the Cayman Islands where she is currently residing with their two kids.
Chambers, who split from Hammer in July 2020, also voiced her support for survivors of ‘assault or abuse’ in the post and claimed she ‘didn’t realize how much I didn’t know’.
It follows the disturbing claims from Hammer’s ex Paige Lorenze, which were revealed to DailyMail.com exclusively earlier this month.
The actor has faced a huge backlash after messages about rape fantasies, BDSM and cannibalism he allegedly sent to a woman were posted on social media earlier this month.
Despite hitting back at ‘b*****t claims’, he has dropped out of multiple acting projects.
‘Heartbroken’: Elizabeth Chambers on Monday offered a statement in support of survivors in her first Instagram since an alleged leak of estranged husband Armie Hammer’s X-rated texts about cannibalism and rape. They are pictured together above in 2020
‘Devastated’: ‘For weeks, I’ve been trying to process everything that has transpired,’ Chambers wrote in an Instagram post on Monday. ‘I am shocked, heartbroken, and devastated’
Chambers, who split from Hammer in July 2020, also voiced her support for survivors of ‘assault or abuse’ in the post and claimed she ‘didn’t realize how much I didn’t know’
‘For weeks, I’ve been trying to process everything that has transpired,’ Chambers wrote in Monday’s post. ‘I am shocked, heartbroken, and devastated.
Then, she pivoted away from her personal life.
‘Heartbreak aside, I am listening, and will continue to listen and educate myself on these delicate matters. I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know,’ she went on.
‘I support any victim of assault or abuse and urge anyone who has experienced this pain to seek the help she or he needs to heal.’
Chambers continued: ‘At this time, I will not be commenting further on this matter.’
‘My sole focus and attention will continue to be on our children, on my work and on healing during this incredibly difficult time.’
Finishing, she wrote: ‘Thank you for all of the love and support, and thank you in advance for your continued kindness, respect, and consideration for our children and me as we find ways to move forward.’
Chambers’ social media statement comes just days after the Food Network persona first broke her silence via a pointed Instagram comment.
The actress voiced her opinion under a post announcing that Hammer’s Call Me By Your Name co-star Timothée Chalamet could be reuniting with director Luca Guadagnino for a film about cannibalism.
She kept her response brief, simply writing: ‘No. Words.’
Chambers’ statement comes just days after she first broke her silence via a pointed Instagram comment. The actress commented under a post reporting Armie’s former co-star Timothée Chalamet is set to reunite with director Luca Guadagnino for a cannibalism film
Shocking: In recent weeks, Armie has faced huge backlash and dropped out of multiple projects after messages allegedly sent by the actor, 34, were leaked
Hammer announced the couple’s split in July, shortly after Chambers shared this post
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bones & All is a coming-of-age horror/love story, based on the 2015 novel by Camille DeAngelis, with Chalamet and actress Taylor Russell in talks for the two leads.
The plot ‘follows Maren Yearly on a cross-country trip as she searches for the father she’s never met in an attempt to understand why she has the urge to kill and eat the people that love her’.
It’s thought that Chambers has been hunkering down in the Cayman Islands with the former couple’s two children since her estranged husband’s scandal broke.
She is said to be distraught over the messages, which date back to 2016 and some are as recent as February 2020, a time period where Hammer was still married.
A close friend exclusively told DailyMail.com: ‘Armie had a whole other side to him that she wasn’t aware of. Whether it was always there and he kept it hidden, or something happened that changed him completely, she doesn’t know.’
The two announced their 10-year marriage was over in July, as a source close to Chambers admitted she was aware of his infidelities, which led to their split.
Hammer and Chambers tied the knot in May of 2010, and they share daughter Harper Grace, six, and son Ford Armand, four.

But Hammer’s alleged extreme kinks are a ‘complete shock’ to the mother-of-two, with the friend adding: ‘Armie appears to be a monster.’
The friend said: ‘A lot of these women have reached out to Elizabeth and although she didn’t want to admit it to herself at first, she knows now they are speaking the truth.
‘Armie had a whole other side to him that she wasn’t aware of. Whether it was always there and he kept it hidden, or something happened that changed him completely, she doesn’t know.’
The insider claims that one of the women who contacted Chambers about her experience with Hammer was left so traumatised that she entered an ‘intense rehab and therapy program because of his emotional and maybe physical abuse.’
The source added: ‘He preyed upon her when she was coming out of a relationship. He made her feel very uncomfortable, the things he wanted to do made her very scared.’
The graphic Instagram DMs that Hammer allegedly penned to a woman included talk of rape fantasies, BDSM and cannibalism.
In one exchange, Hammer is seen to write: ‘I am 100% a cannibal. I want to eat you. F**k. That’s scary to admit. I’ve never admitted that before.’
Hanner began to trend on Twitter after the sexually graphic Instagram DMs that he allegedly penned to a woman were posted publicly by an anonymous, now-private account, House of Effie.
The woman behind the House of Effie account shared new alleged correspondences with Hammer on Tuesday, in which he appeared to refer to her as his ‘slave’.
However, the authenticity of the screenshots has not yet been verified.
Speaking out: The Social Network actor has also been subject of allegations from a few of his exes, including college student Paige Lorenze, 22, whom he dated briefly last year
Scarred: Paige claimed that Armie cut his first initial ‘A’ into her skin during a kinky sex game, which she insists got out of control
The Social Network actor has also been subject of allegations from a few of his exes, including college student Paige Lorenze, 22, whom he dated briefly last year, claiming on YouTube that he carved his initial ‘A’ in the skin above her groin.
In a recent interview Paige also claimed on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, she also described in detail how the Hollywood star allegedly wanted to remove one of her ribs and eat it.
The model admitted that she took it as ‘dark humour’ at first, before he made the request ‘five times’ – to the point that she believed it was more of a ‘serious thing’.
‘He would always say, ‘I wonder what it tastes like, I bet it tastes good,’ stuff like that,’ she claimed.
Paige also made troubling claims that Hammer would tell her stories about his childhood when his own family ‘felt like he was being taken’ by the devil.
She previously told Daily Mail that Hammer was fixated on biting her body, begging that she allow him to take lumps of flesh from her arm, before consuming them.
Father-of-two Hammer allegedly urged his lover – who is 12 years his junior – to participate in ‘role play’ sex.
Even on their first night of intimacy, Lorenze claimed Hammer insisted: ‘You can either call me daddy or sir.’
The actor allegedly often tied up Lorenze, hit her with paddles and planned out ‘high protocol nights’ of painful sexual moves, which often left her covered in bruises.
The former professional skier-turned-Instagram model provided DailyMailTV with an exclusive image of a sickening scar just millimeters away from her private parts that was left when Hammer allegedly carved his first initial ‘A’ into her skin during a kinky sex game.
Just days after returning home from spending Thanksgiving with his family in early December, Lorenze, who was still recovering from his branding, decided to call off their romance.
Receipts: Paige’s story about the basement mannequins was supported by photos posted online by another alleged former lover, known on Instagram as Nastya D
She recently revealed that Hammer allegedly learned how to tie women up by practising on mannequins he stored in the basement of the $5.8 million home he shared with Chambers and their two young children.
Lorenze’s story about the basement mannequins was supported by photos posted online by another alleged former lover, known on Instagram as Nastya D.
Screenshots of messages purportedly sent to Nastya D by Hammer showed a mannequin wrapped in red rope with what he called a ‘leash’ coming out of the back.
In a statement to DailyMail.com, Hammer’s lawyer said: ‘These assertions about Mr. Hammer are patently untrue.
‘Any interactions with this person, or any partner of his, were completely consensual in that they were fully discussed, agreed upon, and mutually participatory.’
Armie also addressed the controversy in a statement to People: ‘I’m not responding to these b*****t claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic. Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that.’
Family: Even with his family at Thanksgiving, Hammer took along his leather bound BDSM case for sex games (Armie is pictured with Paige and his mother in a photo shared with DailyMailTV)
It came as he pulled out of his leading role in the romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding, opposite Jennifer Lopez.
Hammer also dropped out this week from the Paramount Plus drama series The Offer, in which he was set to star as producer Al Ruddy in the behind-the-scenes story of the 1972 motion picture juggernaut The Godfather.
Earlier this month DailyMail.com obtained concerning videos showing Hammer looking ‘out of it’, cracking open a beer while driving and licking white crystals off his friend’s hand.
The star is seen in two separate clips, declaring ‘s**t’s getting weird’ after polishing off a white substance from a friend’s hand and in another saying ‘sending love, boys’ after taking a swig from his beer can while behind the wheel.
A source close to Hammer’s family told DailyMail.com: ‘He always liked to drink, do drugs, but never like this.’
In the first video, a shaved-headed Hammer is riding passenger while a friend is in the driver’s seat.
Donning a green bandanna around his neck and wearing gold aviator sunglasses, Hammer dead pans the camera and says: ‘S**t’s getting weird,’ before showing a friend whose hand is outstretched with a tiny amount of small white crystals.
Hammer is then seen licking the substance out of his friend’s hand, before the man says ‘more, more, more, more’, prompting Hammer to go back and clean off the rest of the man’s hand.
In another video, Hammer sports the same hairstyle and appears to be driving alone, and appears to show him taking both hands off the wheel as he raises up a Miller Lite and cracks it open.
He then takes a long swig of it and exhales in satisfaction, before saying to the camera, ‘sending love, boys.’
Explosive: The graphic DMs were allegedly sent by Armie to a woman over four years. They were leaked publicly by anonymous account House of Effie on Instagram over the weekend
The scandal first began when unverified Instagram direct messages, which he supposedly wrote, were leaked online earlier this month.
The messages described some alarming sexual fantasies, including cannibalism: ‘I am 100% a cannibal. I want to eat you. F***. That’s scary to admit. I’ve never admitted that before.’
‘You just live to obey me and be my slave,’ a message purported to have been sent from Hammer’s official Instagram account reads.
‘I will own you. That’s my soul. My brain. My spirit. My body. Would you come and be my property till you die?’
The message continues: ‘If I wanted to cut off one of your toes and keep it with me in my pocket so I always had a piece of you in my possession?’
House of Effie attempted to prove their authenticity by sharing private photos alleged to be from Hammer.
One includes an undated photo that seems to be sent from Hammer’s official Instagram account where he grabs his neck, presumably to imitate choking himself.
Another photo is of a male’s hand splayed out across a script on a wooden table, and purports to have been sent from Hammer’s Instagram account in an undated message. Visible on the man’s ring finger is a small tattoo.
Notably, Hammer has a similar looking tattoo on his finger, having previously had Chambers’ initials inked on his ring finger shortly after they married in October 2010.
Proof: The woman has also shared a photo she claims to have received from Hammer during her purported exchange with him, showing a tattoo on his ring finger
They also supplied voice messages, where a man purported to be Hammer describes his sexual fantasies and speaks about the messages in question.
House of Effie explained she initially shared a video that referenced her alleged affair with Hammer, prompting other women to come forward and their stories to go viral.
The user wrote: ‘Women approached me with their affair stories as we talked overwhelmed with grief for days and nights without sleeping or eating, with some ending up in the ER.
‘We collectively decided we have to speak out after how we were treated and seeing how the women in 2020 were being treated by him. We cannot allow more women to endure what we are going through in the future.’
The accuser claims the women that Hammer allegedly was having affairs with recently ‘united’ and were able to ‘piece together a five year timeline’ of his alleged activity.
They concluded that ‘when [Hammer] has a fight with his wife, he’d reach out to his kitten, and when they had a fight, the next day he would just reach out to his other kitten with the same message. Naturally all fights revolving around [Hammer’s] bad treatment of women.’
It’s unclear how many women are behind the allegations.
In a number of the alleged messages, Hammer appears to reference Chambers.
In an exchange via Facebook in April of 2017, Chambers is brought up again. A woman asks ‘did you fix that problem?’
And when Hammer quizzes: ‘What problem?’, she replies: ‘The f**k-your-wife-so-she-lets-s**t-go problem.’
Hammer answers back: ‘Hahahaha. Not yet. But I bought a b**er pill for tomorrow night just to make sure I seal the deal. They’ve bumped her from first class and we didn’t even sit next to each other.’
Odd: Though the messages are unverified, the user attempted to prove their authenticity by sharing private photos alleged to be from Hammer (one image is above)
Another message from Instagram dated Christmas Day 2019, the accuser claims she told Hammer’s wife about their alleged affair.
Hammer allegedly writes: ‘As long as you f**king promise never to do anything like that again.’
One of Hammer’s exes, writer Jessica Ciencin Henriquez, has spoken out saying she believes the shocking messages ‘are real’, and later wrote: ‘It takes an army to hide a predator’ in reference to the allegations.
Henriquez tweeted: ‘If you are still questioning whether or not those Armie Hammer DMs are real (and they are) maybe you should start questioning why we live in a culture willing to give abusers the benefit of the doubt instead of victims.’
Henriquez, who was pictured on a date with Hammer on August 31, later took to Instagram to add: ‘It takes an army to hide a predator. Behind every abuser is a team of people working hard to cover up the trail.’
The writer reportedly blocked Hammer on social media shortly after their August meeting. It’s unclear how long they dated.
Henriquez previously posted a meme to Twitter that showed a picture of her with Hammer, bearing the caption ‘How it started’, alongside a screen shot showing Hammer’s blocked account, with the words ‘How it’s going’. The post was uploaded on October 30.
Lorenze also tweeted ‘anyone got a good therapist?’ as the messages were first leaked.
Henriquez responded to the post the following day, telling Lorenze: ‘Yeah girl, I’ll send you the number’, accompanied with a wink-face emoji.
Look at that! Armie has a similar looking tattoo on his finger, as seen in the above image from 2020 which is said to be of the initials of his estranged wife
House of Effie also shared a clip from an Interview posted by Netflix in November 2020, where he declares that his dream dinner guest would be Marquis de Sade, a French philosopher and author, whose works helped coin the term ‘sadist’ to describe sexual cruelty.
He was known for his libertine sexuality and his works depicted sexual fantasies, which included a heavy focus on violence, suffering and anal sex.
Hammer, best known for his acclaimed role in 2017’s Call Me By Your Name, has appeared in recent years in films including On the Basis of Sex, Sorry to Bother You and the upcoming Death on the Nile.
DailyMail.com has reached out to 20th Century Fox, who are behind Death on the Nile, and ViacomCBS, who are developing The Offer in which Hammer is set to star, for comment on the allegations but has not yet received a response.
In an interview with Playboy magazine in 2013, he lifted the lid on his ‘wild’ sexual habits with women in previous relationships.
He told the outlet: ‘Well, if you’re married to a feminist as I am, then it’s…. I don’t know how much we can put here without my parents being embarrassed, but I used to like to be a dominant lover.
‘I liked the grabbing of the neck and the hair and all that. But then you get married and your sexual appetites change. And I mean that for the better – it’s not like I’m suffering in any way. But you can’t really pull your wife’s hair. It gets to a point where you say, ”I respect you too much to do these things that I kind of want to do”.’
Hammer later blamed what he called ‘over-sharing’ about his past sexual exploits on alcohol in an interview with E! News, although he later claimed to Elle that same year a former girlfriend once tried to stab him in bed.
