Arrow star Stephen Amell responded to reports that he was ‘forcibly removed’ from a flight after a shouting match with his wife, Cassandra Jean.

The 40-year-old actor ‘appeared intoxicated’ and was repeatedly asked to ‘lower his voice’ on the aircraft, but he refused, according to TMZ.

Amell took to Twitter on Wednesday morning and admitted he let his emotions get the best of him as he downplayed the event to his two million followers.

‘My wife and I got into an argument Monday afternoon on a Delta flight from Austin to LA. I was asked to lower my voice and I did. Approximately 10 minutes later I was asked to leave the flight. And I did so immediately. I was not forcibly removed,’ he said. 

‘I rebooked myself on a Southwest flight 2 hours later and traveled home without any further issue. I let my emotions get the better of me, end of story. Must be a slow news cycle.’

Sources told the publication that an air marshal and three flight attendants removed him from the plane in Austin while his wife, Cassandra Jean, looked visibly embarrassed.

Amell and his wife were in town for the ATX Festival and were seen laughing with Aisha Tyler at the panel for their indie flick, Speech & Debate.

When a fan asked about what it was like working together in a professional setting, Cassandra, who directed the short, reportedly joked that ‘Stephen displayed some diva-like behavior because he was used to being on a much bigger production,’ according to US Weekly. 

He later admitted to acting like a ‘turd’ during the coronavirus pandemic due to lack of work.   

Stephen and Cassandra have been married for eight years and have a seven-year-old daughter named Mavi. 

He was previously married to fellow Canadian Carolyn Lawrence for three years, but their relationship ended in divorce in 2010.

Stephen found fame in 2012 when he was cast as Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow in The CW show Arrow, based on the DC Comics superhero of the same name. 

His character also appeared in multiple spin-offs in the Arrowverse, including The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, in addition to the CW Seed webseries, Vixen.

Prior to his television roles, Amell starred as the criminal Joran van der Sloot in the Liftetime movie Justice for Natalee Holloway.
