Ashley Cain’s girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee has shared how she has struggled to sleep just two weeks after the loss of their daughter Azaylia, who died following her brave battle with a rare form of leukaemia.

The heartbroken mum took to Instagram to reflect on her daughter’s tragedy and opened up about her struggles to sleep in the early hours of the morning on Sunday 9 May.

Safiyya shared: "It’s ten past two in the morning and I just cannot sleep, my mind is just ticking.

“Why did this happen to Azaylia, like, I just don’t get it I really don’t get it. There’s so much reflection now that I have that I just think why her?

In the days running up to Azaylia’s passing, the doting mother admitted that there was so much going on at the time that it was hard to focus on anything else.

She added: “I was in such a kind of drill mode where I couldn’t even absorb each day by day because something new that was going on was taking my mind capacity.

“Now I’ve like sitting and reflecting on everything it’s just crazy, unreal.”

She wrote atop of the video: “I just want to hold her so tight” followed by: “Reflection of the journey.”

Just hours earlier, Safiyya and her boyfriend Ashley paid tribute to their baby girl Azaylia as they lit a candle in her memory.

Surrounded by her favourite lion teddies, the couple lit a personalised candle donned with beautiful pictures of Azaylia framed with diamanté crystals.

The emotional post comes after the couple announced the charity they set up in their late daughter’s name to help others with similar conditions.

Before her death, the Ex On The Beach star set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money for Azaylia’s treatment in Singapore, which garnered more than £1.6 million in donations in less than 24 hours.

After the family had been informed she had deteriorated too much for the treatment to be effective, the couple shared they were going to use the money “positively” with some funds going towards her "magical" send-off and the rest to be used to establish their charity.

Ashley and Safiyya announced the news in a heartfelt message on their GoFundMe page as they thanked their fans for their generous donations.

The grieving couple admitted they have been forever changed by the cancerous "monster" that Azaylia bravely fought against throughout her life.

In her short life, Azaylia's story touched the lives of millions across the world including Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and other families across the world.
