She began the interview by denying rumours she’d eaten her dead cat, after posting a video to Instagram last week of herself digging up the animal and boiling it.

‘Absolutely not, no I didn’t eat the cat,’ she said. ‘And firstly, I wouldn’t eat a cat that has been dead for three months.’

Azealia explained that she’d dug up and boiled Lucifer ‘as part of taxidermy’, which is a hobby she’s interested in.

‘I don’t know what you think happens when you go to a medical school and you see a skull or skeleton there, it’s the same thing that happens,’ she added.

She then revealed that her grim collection includes the skull of a dead child.

‘There are lots of scientific research websites where you can buy human skulls like this one,’ she said, holding up the skull on the livestream.

‘Oh, my God, you’ve got a skull there,’ radio presenter Kyle Sandilands said.

‘This is the skull of a six-year-old girl who died of head trauma,’ Azealia replied, which prompted Kyle’s co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson to ask: ‘Why do you want that?’

Azealia said she ‘loves bones’ and ‘respects the afterlife’, adding: ‘I think that the bone is where the energy holds for a person.’

Last week, the musician posted a gruesome video on Instagram that appeared to show her digging up her dead cat Lucifer and boiling it.

She posted – and deleted – a disturbing set of clips in which she and another person exhumed the bagged remains of the cat who died three months ago.

The first video showed her using her hands to claw in the soil to dig something up before pulling out a large white bag.

She captioned the post: ‘Lucifer 2009-2020. My Dear kitty. Thank you for everything. A legend. An icon. Forever a serval serve.’

The next video was even more grotesque and showed her stirring a boiling pot of contents including what looked like a skull, which she captioned ‘she’s ready’.

Azealia has previously admitted to being a ‘witch’ and revealed in 2015 that her interest in magic came from her mother.

‘My mother practiced white table magic. Prayers to the ancestors and praying to saints and praying for all kind of protection’ she told Broadly.

This is also not the first time Azealia has been criticised for her alleged treatment of animals. In December 2016, she shared a bizarre Instagram video showing herself cleaning out a cupboard after three years of apparently sacrificing chickens.
