‘Always finding time for my IVs’: Bella Hadid opens up on daily duties she has in autoimmune disease battle
Bella Hadid spread awareness about living with autoimmune disease in a series of posts on her Instagram account Thursday.
The supermodel, 24, captioned the shot, ‘Living with a few chronic auto immune disease =always finding time for my IVs.’
She showed off a shot of herself in a denim outfit as she has IV’s attached into her arm, as a friend tended to her hair.

In another shot, she was seen showing off a pair of bandaged cotton balls on both arms where the needles had previously been inserted.
She added on her Instagram Stories, ‘After 10 years of needles my tiny veins usually give out once before we get a good one.’
Following the medical procedure, Hadid said ‘today started out rough but ended better … grateful.’
Bella remained stylish amid the procedure donning a brown top with a gold necklace and multiple beads and bracelets on both wrists.

Bella said that symptoms she’s suffered amid her health battle including an irregular heartbeat, mood disorders, joint pain, sweats, nausea, difficulty with breathing and exercising, insomnia, headaches, brain fog, anxiety and confusion.
Bella opened up on the immediate difficulties she experienced when she ‘first got sick’ while speaking with the Evening Standard in 2015.
‘It affected my memory so I suddenly wouldn’t remember how to drive to Santa Monica from Malibu where I lived,’ Bella said. ‘I couldn’t ride. I was just too sick. And I had to sell my horse because I couldn’t take care of it.’

She said that she had visions of competitive horseback riding prior to falling ill with the disease.
‘If I’d had the chance to succeed in riding, I might not have modeled,’ she said. ‘I didn’t know that I was going to get sick.’
She opened up on specific injuries in her spine that left her with ‘excruciating pain for three years,’ which even extra rest didn’t diminish.
‘I have it in all my joints and it goes up to my brain. So sometimes I have trouble with putting together sentences.’
The supermodel was first diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2012, as her mother Yolanda Hadid and brother Anwar Hadid have also been open about their battles with the condition.
