Bella Thorne has announced her engagement to her boyfriend of two years, Benjamin Mascolo.

The actress, 23, shared the happy news via her social media channels on Saturday evening, breaking down in tears of joy as she showed off her dazzling teardrop cut diamond engagement ring to the camera.

The former child star has been dating the Italian singer, 25, for two years and the couple confirmed they are now planning celebrations in both the US and Italy. 

Bella told her fans she was ‘so happy’ and praised her new fiancée for knowing ‘exactly my style’ when it came to selecting an engagement ring.

Referring to their forthcoming wedding celebrations, a delighted Benjamin wrote: ‘Thank you for being amazing baby. I love you so much. Yayyy we’re getting married. Celebration in Italy and America both.’

To which she replied: ‘Yessss. I love you so much. Now give me a kiss.’ 

In separate images added to Benjamin’s Instagram account the couple look delighted as they show off Bella’s engagement ring moments after she accepted his proposal.

Displaying her ring finger, Bella revealed the distinctive looking platinum band while planting a kiss on her new fiancée’s lips.

Returning to Instagram shortly after announcing her engagement, Bella thanked fans for their positive comments – but admitted she was struggling  to personally acknowledge everyone. 

She wrote: ‘For everyone writing congratulations thank u guys!!! [sic] It’s hard to reply to everyone I’m not being a b**** it’s just gonna take awhile but I love u guys thank u.’ [sic]’  

Bella and Benjamin – one half of Italian music duo Benji & Fede – have been dating for over two years.

Because Benjamin is not legally allowed to fly to the US under current COVID-19 restrictions that bar non-essential travel, the pair have been meeting up in Mexico since July.

The couple were kept apart for the first months of the lockdowns, with Bella staying in America and Benjamin remaining in his native Italy.

They finally met up again on July 7 and she gushed on Instagram: ‘After 5 months reunited & it feels so good.’  

Bella’s previous boyfriends include eccentric singer Mod Sun and reality TV personality Scott Disick, who she dated when she was 19. 

Ryan Nassif, Gregg Sulkin, Charlie Puth and Tana Mongeau have also been romantically linked to the actress.
