Professional comedian Axel Blake, the winner of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, has addressed claims that the ITV final was a ‘fix’ after it was revealed he had an Amazon Prime show.
The funnyman, 33, appeared on Lorraine on Monday and opened up about the controversy over a show of his – Axel Blake: I’m Not Gonna Lie – on the streaming service.
He has also presented for well known channels such as SBTV and UNILAD and many of his comedy sketches have gone viral.

Axel, who was crowned in last night’s final, revealed that his show was self-financed and stressful – and he didn’t know Amazon Prime were going to pick it up.
He set the record straight as he told host Lorraine: ‘I put that show on myself. I put my money where my mouth is and I achieved that… It looks like ‘Oh my gosh, it’s Amazon Prime’, but if they saw the back end, it didn’t look like that financially, a lot of stress…
The Comedian revealed he even borrowed money to follow his dreams: ‘I had to borrow from other people, to say, ‘Listen, I need to do something, I’ve already put the deposit down and stuff…

He added: ‘Then after that, Amazon picked it up. So it wasn’t for Amazon Prime. I didn’t know they were going to pick it up. That was like a year later.’

On saying he went on BGT for his son, Axel said: ‘The reason I said that was because I just wanted him to see you can do anything you put your mind to. [I told him], ‘Think of something that you want and believe in yourself.’
On being nervous before performing, he explained: ‘The nerves go after the first laughs come in – that’s it.’

Of being runner-up, the 13-year-old told hosts Ant and Dec: ‘It’s amazing! I’d like to say thanks for all the support.’
Placing third was secondary school teacher Tom Ball, who garnered praise once more for his astonishing vocal ability.
Tom said of his third place award: ‘This is more than I could’ve asked for. Back to school Tuesday, can’t wait!’
