The sexy mirror snaps comes after Carol revealed she’s decided she’s ‘not suited to being in a couple’ as she detailed her recent health struggles with long Covid in an interview with Prima Magazine last month.

As she rang in her 61st birthday on Christmas Eve, Carol made clear her gratitude as she celebrates by making the most of everyday and continues to live her dream.

Carol gushed: ‘I feel as though I’ve become stronger the older I’ve got, and that life gets more fascinating. Every day is a bonus and I feel very lucky that I’m still living my dream. I try to make the most of it by really living life to the full.’

Turning her attention to romance, the presenter added despite being single, love ‘is not lacking from her life’ as he love for her children ‘knows no bounds’.

Carol added: ‘My generation was taught that we should be in a partnership, but it’s rubbish. Not everyone is suited to being in a couple and if I’m being really honest, I think that’s true for me. It’s just not how I’m programmed.

‘I like being able to put myself first and not have to ask: ‘Shall we do this?’ or ‘Shall we do that?’ So yes, I’m very happily single and won’t be looking for a partner any time soon.’

On maintaining her enviable figure, Carol explained: ‘When I can fit them in, I do online workouts with weights in my home gym, but I mostly stay fit by walking and hiking.

‘I try to do it every single day – whether it’s walking to the shop instead of driving, taking the stairs instead of getting the lift, or going for a long hike in the Welsh mountains. I love paddleboarding, too; it’s a great laugh and also very good for core strength and your arms.’

The former countdown star revealed that despite staying fit, she has been struggling with long Covid since 2020 and now prioritises her health.

She said: ‘In 2020, I struggled with my health because I was suffering from Long Covid. It affected me really badly, and it didn’t help that I was still working very hard, driving all over the UK for work.

Youthful looks: She explained: ‘I’ve also been very open about having Botox, and that’s my choice and I’m happy with that choice’
