As someone who whips celebrities into shape for a living, Simone De La Rue knows that getting a Hollywood body isn’t easy — or even possible.
“Even in magazines and films that we see, all those celebrities are airbrushed — none of those images are true,” the Body By Simone founder told Page Six at SheKnows’ #BlogHer18 Creators Summit on Thursday. “The biggest A-list celebrities in Hollywood, they’ll be the first ones to say it, like, ‘I don’t look like that, that’s not how I look.’ So we need to relay that message to the everyday person out there.”
“[Stars] look just as crazy as we do in the morning when we wake up, they sweat the same, so don’t compare yourself to those celebrities — they’re set in a certain image because they’re paid to look that way.”
De La Rue — whose dance-inspired fitness technique was captured on Khloé Kardashian’s “Revenge Body” and is used by Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Garner — told us that her reality-show experience made her understand the gap in health and fitness knowledge between celebs and everyday people.
“For the first time I was dealing with someone who was 360 pounds who couldn’t even walk up the stairs, who thought that eating a salad from McDonald’s with croutons and dressing on it was a healthier option,” she recalled of one of the “Revenge Body” contestants she trained. “I really had to go back to square one.”
And as for working with the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star, De La Rue said she “had a lovely experience,” and confirmed that she is returning for the next season of the E! show.
“With the Kardashians, either you love them or you hate them, so I didn’t know what to expect going into it, but I was just so pleased that she created a platform for us to help and assist people,” she said.
