Celebrities get in on the Thanksgiving holiday spirit on social media

Happy Turkey Day! Hollywood stars Catherine Zeta Jones, Kaley Cuoco, Khloe Kardashian and Cindy Crawford take to social media to celebrate Thanksgiving while Jennifer Aniston gets a head start in the kitchen

It’s that time of the year when Hollywood stars rediscover the joys of home cooking—or at least, book a personal chef for the day.

And celebrities didn’t disappoint this Thanksgiving, taking to social media to document their forays into the kitchen.

Famous folks like Jennifer Aniston and Bella Hadid cooked up a storm, and shared it all on Instagram, while others like David and Victoria Beckham, Cindy Crawford and Demi Moore posted sweet and nostalgic family snaps.

Friendsgiving grub: Jennifer Aniston makes enchiladas for her friends, including Jimmy Kimmel, in this social media image

Aniston, who can be considered a newly-minted Instagram goddess, kicked things off with a fun photo gallery posted to her feed of her Wednesday night Friendsgiving meal — which is the somewhat newer tradition of hosting a meal exclusively for friends the day before everyone spends time with family.

Tagging her pal Jimmy Kimmel, she wrote: ‘Ok Jimmy… here are your f**king Friendsgiving enchiladas.’

In her Instagram stories, she posted snippets from a sit-down interview she had with late night funnyman, in which he bemoaned the fact that when Friendsgiving meals mimic those of Thanksgiving, he feels like his actual feast on Turkey Day feels like leftovers.

Kimmel then suggested that Aniston perhaps should try making Mexican food for Friendsgiving, saying that if she does it, everyone will follow — much like her ‘Rachel’ haircut from the Friends era.

‘I am grateful!’: David Beckham shared a picture with his entire family

‘Kisses from us all’: David’s wife Victoria Beckham also sent holiday wishes from her Instagram account

And while Thanksgiving may have come particularly late this November, that hasn’t stopped celebrities from the US and beyond to get in on the holiday spirit by sending further well wishes through social media.

Wrote British sports star David Beckham, who lived for years in Los Angeles: ‘Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating today. I am grateful for so many amazing memories in the USA, here’s to many more…’

Since Thanksgiving always falls on a Thursday, famous faces like Cindy Crawford and Demi Moore posted ‘throwback Thursday’ (or, #tbt) family photos showing what they are most thankful for — their kids.

‘Wishing you and yours a happy Thanksgiving,’ wrote supermodel Crawford, next to a vintage snap of her family including son Presely and daughter Kaia all reclining on a couch together. ‘I’m thankful for these guys and so much more ❤️’

Moore posted a gorgeous old picture showing the actress in pigtail braids, with her young daughters Tallulah, Scout and Rumer veritably climbing all over her.

‘Thankful for my girls ❤️ Happy Thanksgiving!’ the G.I. Jane actress captioned the sweet snap.

For some, Thanksgiving was a working holiday, like Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco, who is currently filming the new TV thriller series The Flight Attendant.

Hashtagging the show, Cuoco shared a picture of an impressive table spread underneath a set tent.

‘Thanksgiving dinner in Thailand!!!’ she wrote alongside the image. ‘I am so grateful for this hardworking cast and crew! I love them and feel so lucky to be on this international flight together ✈️’

Ryan Reynolds took the opportunity to promote his gin brand on the holiday, posting an image of the scruffy Green Lantern actor pouring a bottle of his Aviation gin directly onto a Thanksgiving turkey.

‘Aviation #IsTheNewGravy,’ he cheekily captioned.

More traditional shares included that of The Hills’ Lauren Conrad, who posted a beautiful picture of her family standing in the surf, looking out at the ocean.

For some, Thanksgiving morning was a golden opportunity to get a workout in before the inevitable food coma later in the day.

Such was the case for Khloe Kardashian, who didn’t mind showing her nonplussed mood about being in the gym at 6:19 am.

Then there was the unstoppable Jennifer Lopez, who showed up on her fiance Alex Rodriguez’s Instagram dancing up a storm at The Lab Creative Arts Studio, a West Covina dance studio near Los Angeles, California.

‘Thankful to be spending time with our lab family,’ the baseball star wrote next to the exciting video post. ‘Happy thanksgiving everyone! @inthelab247’

Another star posting her best culinary effort for the holiday was supermodel Bella Hadid, who shared a picture of a tin of croissants underneath a floral arrangement.
