Chantelle Houghton has announced she’s signed on as a Body Shop At Home consultant after becoming ‘bored in lockdown’.
During an Instagram Live Q&A with senior regional manager Suzie Palmer on Wednesday, the former Big Brother star, 37, touched on regaining her ‘confidence and purpose’ with her new job.
The former glamour model also admitted she’ll benefit from the profession after losing out on work during the pandemic as she quipped: ‘I want to earn money, who doesn’t?’

Sharing the exciting news, the TV star said: ‘Hey, I am pleased to announce I’m working with Body Shop at Home as a Body Shop consultant!
‘I’ve loved the Body Shop for years. I remember being eight years old in the Body Shop with my mum trying on the make-up and spraying on all the stuff.
‘I was vegetarian when I was about seven and became vegan in the last five years Lockdown, work, you can’t get out of your house, I’ve just been so bored!’
Detailing the reason behind taking the big step, Chantelle shared: ‘I was sitting at home the other day and thought I just really want to do something that I can focus on instead of just homeschooling.

‘The whole mental health thing… you need to be focused on something. I want to earn money, who doesn’t want to earn money? Let’s be honest!’
The media personality, who has daughter Dolly, eight, from a relationship with cage fighter Alex Reid, 45, recalled when she ‘lost’ herself as a new-time mother.
Former columnist Chantelle added: ‘Especially when you’re a new-time mum, or with a second baby or third baby, you sort of lose your identity. When you join something like this, it gives you a purpose and it’s so easy.
‘When you do something for yourself, with most businesses you can’t get your friends or family involved. But with this, you can be really passionate and get others to be passionate about it as well.

‘It’s such a drive. I lost a lot of my confidence years ago but even in the last couple of weeks I just feel like I wake up in the morning and I’ve got some sort of focus rather than just being a stay-at-home mum which I am right now.
‘With this whole pandemic, work isn’t really there, you can’t do your daily job, so it’s just nice to see other people doing really well. The motivation I’ve felt from being around people at Body Shop at Home… you feel like you’re in it together.’
The Body Shop’s Dame Anita Roddick created the unique flexible earning opportunity back in 1994, 18 years after she founded the company.
Meanwhile, Chantelle recently marked another milestone when she got engaged to Michael Strutt last summer after only three months of dating.

The mother-of-one revealed she has invited her ex-husband Preston, real name Samuel Dylan Murray Preston, to her upcoming wedding.
Speaking to OK! Magazine about whether he would be invited, she said: ‘He’s more than welcome if he wants to – I doubt he will but he’s more than welcome.
‘Michael is just a grounded, normal bloke. He also understands that Preston was a big part of my life and our relationship is solid, so he’s absolutely fine with me inviting him to the wedding.
‘He trusts me completely and I trust him completely. I always thought you should never trust someone 100 per cent, but Michael’s changed my opinion on that. He’s definitely the one for me.’
