A suspect in the kidnap of Celebrity Big Brother star Chloe Ayling is seeking a financial deal with her so he can avoid jail.
Accused Michal Herba hopes to use a law in Italy, where the model was held before being freed.
This allows a prison sentence to be cut or even averted if a “donation” is made to the victim.
Herba, 37, of Oldbury, West Mids, was extradited from Britain in June over claims he helped lure Chloe, 21, from her home in Surrey to Milan for a photo-shoot.
His brother Lukasz, 30, is serving 16 years’ jail for her kidnap and Michal is said to be trying to raise cash to escape a similar fate.
A source said: “Michal denies he did anything illegal but is terrified he’ll also be sent down.
“He’s now doing all he can to prevent that.”
