Chris Evans, 54, revealed that he had not returned all of Bille Piper’s belongings when they split 16 years ago, after he kept hold of one particular item as a reminder of their time together. The DJ had welcomed his ex, 37, and screenwriter Lucy Pebble on to his radio show to discuss their hit show I Hate Suzie when the topic came up.
I would call it theft
Of the incrediblly gripping Sky drama, Chris said: “You two win, you can share it, a CDUK award.”
Billie responded: “Oh look at that.”
Lucy interjected: “What did we win that for?”
Chris explained: “Billie won it 15 years ago”
Billie laughed: “I was gonna say is that mine?”
Lucy questioned: “Are you giving that back to her?”
Chris stated: “No I’m not giving it back to you, because I’ve not had it for the last 15 years, I would call it theft.
“Somebody else has been minding it for you.
Chris said in his defence: “I didn’t steal it, I just helped her move that day and kept this particular item.”
Chris and Billie wed in a secret ceremony back in 2001 when the former pop star was just 18.
Recently the pair reflected on the joyous occasion in an interview on BBC Radio 2.

DJ Pete Tong asked Billie if she had ever visited Las Vegas, prompting Billie to respond: “Once or twice, I think we got married in Vegas.”
Chris confirmed: “We did get married in Vegas.”
However, it was not meant to be and the couple separated in 2004 before being divorced in 2007.
The pair have remained close friends since their split.
Billie went on to marry Laurence Fox in 2007, but the pair went their separate ways in 2016.
At the time, Laurence posted a statement on his Facebook which read: “Laurence Fox and Billie Piper have separated.
“No third parties are involved. For the sake of our family, we request and appeal for space and privacy at this time.”
The Lewis star previously opened up about meeting his wife and said: “[Love at first sight] absolutely happened when I met Bill. We were in a rehearsal room and I knew there and then she was the one for me.”
