Tense: Over on Emmerdale, fans can expect an explosive Christmas as the beloved Woolpack pub goes up in flames, with one mystery victim trapped under the rubble

Dramatic: It’s no surprise that Al Chapman has made his fair share of enemies since buying the iconic tavern, but fans will have to wait and see who is responsible for the blaze

Emmerdale

Over on Emmerdale, fans can expect an explosive Christmas as the beloved Woolpack pub goes up in flames, with one mystery victim trapped under the rubble.

One to watch?

After taking centre stage in the village in recent weeks, it’s been hinted that serial killer Meena Jutla could claim her fifth victim… this time her own sister.

Manpreet is stunned when she meets up with the sister of Meena’s late friend Nadine, who she killed years earlier, who believes the murderous nurse is reponsible.

Confronting her sister, Meena hints she has ‘no idea’ what she’s capable of, and later follows her with a broken bottle.

Given that fans are well aware what she is capable of, it remains to be seen whether her own sibling will become her fifth victim.

It’s no surprise that Al Chapman has made his fair share of enemies since buying the iconic tavern, as part of his scheme to sabotage the pub and turn it into luxury flats.

But in recent weeks he’s found himself in dire financial straits, sparking concern among fans he could resort to desperate measures to land a quick-fix money scheme.

Now Chas, Marlon and Paddy are aware of Al’s ulterior motives, fans will have to wait and see who is responsible for the blaze, when special flashback scenes reveal the true culprit.

Killer Meena Jutla’s luck also appears to be running out, as her sister Manpreet confronts her about her involvement in her friend Nadine’s death, in the midst of another of her sick schemes.

Meena is furious when Billy dumps her to rekindle his romance with Dawn, and quickly plots to frame her by planting drugs on her.

She also claims tells Lucas’ biological father Alex that she believes Dawnis using drugs again, and the mother is later frantic when she realises her son Lucas has gone missing, and it would be no surprise to learn that Meena was responsible.

‘Dawn has no idea [about Meena’s meddling] and no idea that anyone could be that vicious,’ actress Olivia Bromley previously told Metro.co.uk.

‘Alex is quite a vulnerable person. And he doesn’t suspect that Meena could be lying. So both of them are playing against each other. He doesn’t suspect anything. I think when he hears what Meena has to say, he really takes action.’

A dark new trailer also shows Meena claiming she saw someone ‘dodgy lurking around,’ before Manpreet tells her to ‘stop lying,’ after learning from Nadine’s sister Carol, that she believes the nurse is responsible for her death.

Meena can later be seen following her sister with a broken bottle, and given that fans are well aware what Meena is capable of, it remains to be seen whether her own sibling will become her fifth victim.

Sam Dingle is also determined to win back Lydia, gifting her a festive invitation in the hope that they can reunite, so fans will have to wait and see whether the beloved couple can rekindle their romance.

Emmerdale airs on Christmas Day at 7pm, followed by Coronation Street at 8pm on ITV. EastEnders airs at 9:35pm on BBC One.
