Clive Owen has revealed his estranged wife Amanda still cooks for him daily as he detailed their unusual living arrangements.

The Our Yorkshire Farm star, 68, split from his wife last year after 22 years of marriage, with recent reports revealing she was having a five-year-affair with businessman Robert Davies.

Giving a rare interview surrounding the split this week, the TV star explained how he and Amanda make life on their family farm work while separated.

Talking to Christine Lampard on daytime show Lorraine, he shared: ‘I live at the farm and she lives about half a mile away down the road.

‘On a day-to-day basis, we work together, we farm together, we look after the kids together,’ he shared of the pair both remaining hands-on.

Adding that she provides meals, Clive added: ‘She feeds us all, somehow she looks after two houses instead of one ‘.

Elsewhere in the interview, he confessed to ‘playing a massive part’ in his break-up from the TV star last year, and ‘made a right mess of things’, days after it was revealed that Amanda was having an affair with businessman Robert Davies.

As he admitted that their TV fame led to jealousy that it was taking his wife away, Clive was lauded by praise from viewers of the show for taking the blame, with many taking to Twitter to dub him a ‘gentleman’.

One fan wrote that he had given ‘a masterclass right there in being a good man’ during the TV appearance.

Clive and Amanda rose to fame on their Channel 5 TV show, which followed their family’s life on Ravenseat Farm.

But they recently hit headlines as Amanda was believed to have been having an affair for five years with 71-year-old businessman Robert Davies, despite portraying the image of a devoted wife to now estranged husband Clive on screen.

Admitting that he felt the need to speak out as his estranged wife has been getting a large amount of backlash, Clive explained: ‘It’s a tough time for Amanda now and I think it’s only right, because I don’t do social media, to speak out.

‘We filmed Our Yorkshire Farm, people loved it and it was an opportunity to make something as a family. That was what drove her. It was amazing and very successful but I handled it very badly.

‘It was such a change in our lives and I sadly made a right mess of things basically. I had a massive part to play in the relationship ending.

Adding that he felt a wrong sense of jealousy over the fame of their show, and Amanda’s comittment to it, he continued: ‘I was ranting and raving and drinking and carrying on. I don’t know – jealousy. It was taking her away’.

He added: ‘It seemed to eat away at me and I handled it badly and I behaved badly towards her. I should have been supportive… It’s been really upsetting, Amanda’s having a tough time at the moment.

‘I just feel I can’t sit back. I have to say something in her defence, she’s a remarkable woman. We just got to the point where we couldn’t be together anymore.’

‘We were under pressure, it is crazy and it makes you look at life not as well.

Lauded: Following the segment, many took to Twitter to share their praise for Clive

‘It got to a point where we couldn’t get along at all so we parted. It’s very sad but that’s how it is.

‘We’re in business together and we farm together so we spend a lot of time together.

‘The children are amazing, and probably because of her. So what happens is we work together, look after the kids together, she feeds us all and so I think I really believe the kids are great and fine. And there’s so many of them.’

‘I have no plans to do anything, but you never know. And the same with Amanda, she’s busy writing. I’d love people just to leave her alone. She’s an amazing woman.’

Following the segment, many took to Twitter to share their praise for Clive, as one wrote: ‘What an honest and vulnerable interview. Well done Clive for owning the situation and protecting your family’.

‘Such humility and kindness; stepping up to defend @amandaowen even though you dislike media attention Clive.’

A third added: ‘So very refreshing, respect to Mr Owen for attempting to set the record straight’.

Amanda was believed to have been having an affair for five years with 71-year-old businessman Robert Davies, despite portraying the image of a devoted wife to now estranged husband Clive on screen.

Insiders say the father of 11, who had nine children with Amanda, has had to endure rumours of her having affairs for years – and now accepts that their 23-year marriage is over.

‘People might have felt concerned about him because he had a tough time when they first split but he’s moved on now,’ said a friend.

They continued: ‘Over the years he’s had to endure rumours about affairs that Amanda is supposed to have had. Whether they were true or not, it’s something he’s had to live with.

‘It didn’t split them up, but it’s prepared him for the day when she found someone new. It hasn’t come as a great shock that she’s been seeing someone and it certainly hasn’t caused any heartbreak.

Adding that their lives are ‘intertwined’ due to running a farm together, the source explained that Clive and Amanda ‘can’t escape each other’.

They continued: ‘Clive has remained so loyal to her for so long but he’s reached the end of the road and now wants to get on with his life. He isn’t seeing anyone himself but he’s a popular and very well-liked man in the Dales and life is full of possibilities again.’

Amanda’s relationship with web designer Robert left his wife of 12 years Yasumi Davies, 56, distraught.

She discovered their affair a year ago after finding a love note from Amanda in Robert’s car.

Former banker Yasumi left Tokyo to marry Robert in North Yorkshire in 2011, becoming his fifth wife.

But as their marriage lay in ruins, she said: ‘He rang Amanda in front of me and told her I knew about their affair and that it was over. He said they’d been having an affair for a few years.

‘But instead of acknowledging the pain I was suffering, he was more concerned about protecting her TV career.’

Amanda and Robert have known each other for at least five years since she and Clive recruited him to update her personal website in 2018. Their friendship is believed to have blossomed through working closely together.

The source close to Yasumi said: ‘Yasumi suspected for some time that Robert was up to something. She felt as if he wasn’t really present around her and that his head was somewhere else.

‘She was cleaning out the car and she found a handwritten note. There was no name but it was pretty clear who it was from.

‘Yasumi asked Rob for an explanation and he said he had fallen in love with Amanda and that they had been seeing each other for five years.

After the affair came to light, Amanda revealed that she was taking a break from social media after being slammed for ‘living a double life’ amid her affair scandal.

Amanda and Clive confirmed their split last year in a joint statement.

They said: ‘Clive and I are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate. This hasn’t been easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for the future of our family.

‘Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together, with our number one priority being the happiness and wellbeing of our children.’

Since their split, Clive has returned to TV with his new series Beyond The Yorkshire Farm, where he stars alongside his son Reuben.

Amanda Owen and her ex-husband Clive became familiar faces thanks to Our Yorkshire Farm.

But it wasn’t only the parents-of-nine who were popular with audiences at home, since for many, their children – aged from 21 to six – proved to be the real stars of the show.

This was especially true of their eldest son Reuben, who delighted viewers with his farming knowledge, so much so that after five seasons on Our Yorkshire Farm, he joined father Clive on the spin-off.
