He told Denise Welch: ‘The first time I was only 23, I was an officer in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers in Jamaica, and it was on her Caribbean tour that she did just after the Coronation.
‘I carried the colours at her reception… and then we met her at the Governor’s house for lunch. I remember there were three of us talking to her, and chatting away about our regimental goat.’
‘Regimental goat?’ asked Denise

Bill explained: ‘A beautiful goat with silver things on it and it used to march in the front with the band and the Queen was very interested. She was very young, very alive, very alert, very attractive…’
Denise asked: ‘Did you have a little twinkle for her?’
He replied: ‘Oh definitely. You couldn’t help. She was very attractive. She was lovely.’
‘The Queen was always lovely, always up for a laugh.’

Bill has told of his little crush in the past, in his ITV documentary Happy Birthday Bill earlier this year which celebrated his landmark 90th birthday.
Recalling how he’s always had a fondness for the monarch since their very first meeting, Bill said: ‘I’ve met the Queen eight times.
‘I first met her when I was 21 and I was in the Army and we had the day with her which was very nice.
‘I really fancied her! I don’t know if that’s heresy but she was very attractive.’
In the film, Bill showed off a picture of an army regiment’s party, of which Her Majesty attended.
Bill exclaimed: ‘This is the party with the Queen! I remember being there because she was fascinated by the regimental goat.
‘The goat ate cigarettes, two cigarettes a day, and she was feeding him.’
