Curtis Pritchard apologises to anyone ‘offended’ by jokes he told on C4’s Stand Up and Deliver as he admits some gags ‘went too far’

Curtis Pritchard has apologised to anyone who was ‘offended’ by jokes he told on Channel 4’s Stand Up & Deliver.

The Love Island star, 25, took part in the stand-up comedy series for Stand Up To Cancer and left some unimpressed with his crude jokes. 

Speaking on his podcast AJ vs Curtis, the professional dancer admitted he now thinks some of his jokes on the show ‘went too far’.

He said: ‘I know that we normally do the questions from you guys here but just before we move on, I just want to quickly say I recently took part in the stand up to cancer initiative with Channel Four where I was challenged to become a stand up comedian.

‘I just want to apologise because I know that everyone that listens to this you you always support me and you and yet lovely and give me the utmost respect and thank you so much for that but I just want to apologise to anybody that I have offended.

‘Some of the jokes, they were completely off track and went too far and I didn’t realise that at the time but I realise it now and I just want to apologise to everybody and anybody that I have offended. 

‘It was never intentional at all, it really wasn’t. It was a great show to be a part of and I was very fortunate to be able to take part but I just want to apologise and say I am sorry for the jokes.’

During his stand-up routine, Curtis was booed by the audience after he included a joke he had been advised to leave out.  

The reality star was mentored by comedian and Loose Women panellist Judi Love who told him to ditch the joke but he decided to keep it in.

Curtis told the audience: ‘I had this great idea to go on to the biggest dating show on TV. I had the time of my life on there. It’s actually where I got compared to Usain Bolt.

‘The only difference is, hang on when he finishes under ten seconds the crowd goes wild, when I finish under ten seconds she looks at me in disgust and says “is that all you’ve got?”‘

Curtis said: ‘Some of the jokes, they were completely off track and went too far and I didn’t realise that at the time but I realise it now and I just want to apologise’

He then pointed at an audience member and said: ‘It happens to you too, doesn’t it?’

Curtis then added: ‘Don’t worry about it, there is a little blue pill that will make you hard for hours, I promise you.’

The dancer then joked about a time when he used hand sanitiser instead of lubricant during sex.

He said: ‘I got some lubricant out, two squirts, you don’t want anymore than that otherwise it’s like a slip and slide. 

‘You’ll slip off the bed and you won’t know what hole it’s gone in. It’s like throwing a sausage down a hallway, it’s ridiculous.’  

Awkward: Curtis’ mentor Judi Love put her head in her hands during Curtis’ routine which included several raunchy jokes

Watching Curtis on stage, his mentor Judi said: ‘I didn’t even know that he was going to do this joke, I told him to take this joke out,’ before she put her head in her hands. 

After his routine, Curtis said: ‘There was a guy booing. I mustn’t have been that good but I enjoyed it. 

‘I’m exhausted now, I ain’t gonna lie. Physically, mentally, emotionally exhausted. I need my bed.’

Curtis took part in the show alongside Katie McGlynn, Richard Coles, Shaun Ryder and Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.
