‘I used to stay healthy to look hot in a bikini’: Davina McCall, 53, says she maintains her fitness to ‘live longer’ after spending years focusing on her appearance
Davina McCall has revealed she maintains her fitness in order to ‘live longer’ after spending years focusing on her appearance.
In a new interview with Women’s Health UK, the presenter, 53, admitted she would stay healthy to ‘look hot in a bikini’, but has now placed her energy into ‘being in the best possible position to beat anything should it come my way’.
The Masked Singer judge also stressed the importance of mental health ahead of her virtual workout with the publication’s Weekenders initiative.

‘Previously, my ‘keeping fit and healthy’ was all about my body and making myself look hot in a bikini…and actually now it’s just about staying alive longer and being in the best possible position to beat anything should it come my way’, the TV star said.
The ex-Big Brother host went on to share how she’s keeping up with her regular regime in lockdown, stating: ‘A lot has been said about health and fitness for your mental health this year, and we all know that it really makes an enormous difference.
‘The other night I exercised at 9.30 at night…I’m just trying to squeeze in a workout on my fitness platform, Own Your Goals, between cleaning the house, doing a ton of laundry, cooking and everything else.’
While juggling her busy career, the broadcaster is set to host a free workout class with personal trainer Faye Edwards as part of the Women’s Health Weekenders on Saturday.

The former model teased what participants can expect when they join the online exercise as she explained: ‘You won’t even know you’ve worked out. You will have had the best time ever, you’ll be listening to music.
‘At the end of it, you’ll go ”oh no, is that it?” When do you ever say that about working out? Doing a class with Faye is so much fun, you want it to go on forever.’
Elsewhere in the interview, the media personality shared her aims for this year once England’s third lockdown is lifted.
Davina said: ‘My 2021 goal is just to really try and enjoy and let myself go and let loose when we can because when you have your liberty taken from you, it makes you realise how little you make of your liberty when you have it.

‘I want to go out, I want to meet up with friends, I want to have tons of dinner parties, I want to cook food, I want to have loads of people in my house, I want to have parties, I want to go out clubbing, I want to listen to music, I want to go to festivals.
‘I want to do it all, because I never took advantage of all those things when they were right there and now they’ve gone!’
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Wimbledon native confessed she’s managed to see the value of all occupations.
She mentioned: ‘Another thing I think we’ve realised is that every job, every single job, is a job of great value.
‘Like, oh my god, delivery vans, I’ve never been so grateful, food delivery vans to my parents, Amazon delivery guys, I’m so grateful to, the Post Office service – thank you so much for keeping going… refuse service.
‘Where would we be without them? They’re the lifeblood of this nation and I think we’ve all come to realise that in lockdown.’
Davina McCall will host a free home workout as part of the Women’s Health Weekenders on the Women’s Health UK YouTube channel at 9am on Saturday 9th January.
