Demi Lovato has vowed to "keep fighting" as she broke her silence on her overdose.
The singer was rushed to hospital two weeks ago after being found unconscious at her Hollywood Hills home.
Following reports she almost died after what was believed to be a heroin overdose, the 25-year-old released a lengthy statement thanking fans for their support and vowing to keep fighting her addiction.
She wrote: "I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.

"I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well. To my fans, I am forever grateful for all your love and support throughout this past week and beyond. Your positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time.
"I want to thank my family, my team, and the staff at Cedars-Sinai who have been by my side this entire time. Without them I would be here writing this letter to all of you.
"I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery. The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side.
"I will keep fighting. Demi."
It comes after reports that the star was due to be released from hospital following treatment for what was believed to have been a heroin overdose.
However, her loved ones have since denied that she uses the drug.
After being found unconscious in her home, Demi was treated by paramedics with Narcan – an opioid antidote – before being taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
It’s since been reported that the former Disney star’s assistant screamed "She’s dead!" after finding her unconscious, and that her bodyguard may have saved her life.
Demi’s bodyguard apparently entered her house on Tuesday, July 24 to find her assistant screaming: “She’s dead, she’s dead!”
But it was the bodyguard’s reported quick thinking that could have saved Demi’s life.
The insider claimed there was blood and vomit on her pillow, and that her airways may have been blocked, so the security man “administered some sort of first aid to keep Demi alive” before the emergency services arrived.
"Based on what we’re told it appears the bodyguard propped Demi up and tried clearing her airway which allowed her to breathe," TMZ reported.
