Denise Van Outen is bright and cheerful in yellow flares and polka dots for TV appearance… as ex Eddie Boxshall drowns his sorrows at dinner for one

A newly single Denise Van Outen was in great spirits as she arrived at the Steph’s Packed Lunch studios in Leeds on Monday morning.

The TV star, 48, was ready for one of her regular appearances on the Channel 4 show, dressed in a colourful outfit and flashing a big smile for the cameras.

The television personality, 47, announced she had broken up with her partner of seven years Eddie Boxshall, 48, on January 7, after he was reportedly caught having phone sex with other women.

Denise looked gorgeous in a pair of yellow flares, which she teamed with a black and white polka dot top and platform heeled boots.

A white furry trimmed jacket and a slick of bright lippie completed her camera-ready look. 

While Denise was up bright and early for her Monday TV appearance, her ex Eddie spent his Sunday evening at an Essex restaurant.

Eddie, who has moved out of the house he shared with Denise and is staying at a friend’s pub, posted an Instagram snap of a bottle of red wine he was enjoying.

‘Me, myself and I,’ he captioned the snap taken at Mosaic Restaurant in Braintree, Essex, while the UB40 song Red Red Wine played, including the lyrics:  

‘Makes me forget that I still need her so; Red, red wine, it’s up to you; All I can do.’

A report on Sunday claimed Eddie is being comforted by Peter Crouch during the shock split.   

According to reports, the ex-England striker, 40, is consoling Eddie, who is ‘desperate to get Denise back’.

‘Since Denise kicked him out, Eddie’s leant on Peter for advice and support,’ a source told the Sun. 

‘Peter doesn’t condone his actions. He’s tried to help but he’s made it clear that he doesn’t want to get involved in matters between Eddie and Denise.’

The pair are said to have formed a close friendship due to Abbey being good pals with Denise.

Denise allegedly discovered his infidelities, which included him going on dates with other women as well as the claims of phone sex. 

It was said Eddie has been ‘pulling out all the stops to save their seven-year relationship’ and is ‘staying nearby’ their Essex home in a room above a friend’s pub, in the hopes of being allowed back.

However, Denise is adamant that their romance is over and is ‘determined to move on’ following on from her heartache, according to reports.  

A source told The Sun: ‘Eddie is convinced he can win Denise back and isn’t willing to throw away all of their memories together. He’s pulling out all the stops to save their relationship. 

‘He feels terrible and pained that she’s hurting. He is desperate to gain her forgiveness and knows there are a lot of deep-rooted feelings involved. He’s not willing to accept it’s over for good.

Keeping busy: Eddie took to his Instagram Story last week to post a selfie after completing a gruelling workout and wrote alongside the snap ‘#postivevibes’

‘He thinks they’re the perfect match for each other and knows he was foolish. Eddie is keeping his distance for now and wants to give her the space and respect she needs. But he’s staying nearby in the hope he might be allowed back…

But sources close to the former Dancing On Ice star told the publication that she had already ‘made up her mind’ and ‘determined to move on and very unlikely’ to take him back after his actions. 

Meanwhile, the beauty faces a ‘last-minute rewrite’ of her upcoming autobiography she she poured her heart out about finding ‘lasting happiness’ with her fiancé, whom she was set to marry this year.

According to the newspaper Denise has asked Eddie to leave their home after discovering he had been swapping messages and calls with women he met online and hooking up with another on secret dates. 

Confirming their split in an Instagram post, Denise wrote: ‘Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie. 

‘It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple. I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship. 

‘I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made. We ask that you please respect our privacy at this time, especially for our children.’
