Dove Cameron posts bra-less selfies with feminist quotes and comments: ‘Don’t hide your natural body’
Dove Cameron posted a pair of bra-less Instagram selfies on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. alum captioned each upload with a quote about female empowerment.
In the comments section of one, she former Disney Channel actress insisted: ‘This is being a role model. This is exactly being a role model.’

She wrote: ‘Take ur f***in bra off if you want. Don’t hide your natural body. People are weird, just because it’s “the norm” now to be ashamed of your nipples or your female anatomy or your period doesn’t mean they are actually bad or embarrassing???’
Her first selfie came with a quote from Trista Hedren, who has written books like The Girl God, Mother Earth and Single Mothers Speak On Patriarchy.
‘Women HAVE a history that has been systematically suppressed. Our collective spirituality has largely been tainted to fit the needs of men and those in power.’
The Trista quote continued: ‘This has a profound effect on the self-esteem of girls and the women they become. This influence can be seen in their life choices, partners and financial security for the rest of their lives.’

Trista added: ‘It also has an effect on the way their future partners will view them – and ultimately treat them. Our girls deserve better. The time to introduce feminism and woman-centered spirituality to ALL children is now.’
Dove’s second post included a quote from Elizabeth Eiler’s book Singing Woman: Voices Of The Sacred Feminine, which came out last September.
Elizabeth wrote that ‘this is the age of the ascendant Feminine Principle. In such times as these, women are able to look at themselves with new concepts of value and brilliance. However you inhabit and express being Woman, embrace yourself in that way today!’
Dove co-starred in the Descendants TV movies with Cameron Boyce, who tragically at the age of 20 last month from an epileptic seizure.

Last week, Dove told the E! program Daily Pop that Cameron was ‘the world’s most singular person, adding: ‘I can say with total confidence that everybody would have said that, you know, a year ago.’
She shared: ‘Working with Cameron, you know, it’s like working with your family, or like a really close friend – it’s the most bizarre experience for it to be something so public because it’s not like working with somebody who you worked with for a week and then telling your experience.
‘It’s like how do you speak about your experience with one of your favorite people, one of your people you feel closest to? He just was everything that everybody says he is. He was from someplace else. He was truly like a cosmic happening.’
