EastEnders star Barbara Smith looked stylish as she took to the red carpet at a showbiz event in London.

The 24 year old actress, who is best known for playing Dana Monroe in the BBC One soap, put on a chic display whilst posing for cameras at the bash.

Pulling a serious expression in a snap, Barbara sported a black dress with a low-cut back and thin straps. The soap star completed the red carpet look with a pair of platform Converse shoes, as well as bronzed eyeshadow.

Barbara looked completely different from her soap character as she made her way into the Sejuiced Brunch event at Kibele restaurant in Fitzrovia.

It comes as Barbara is set to leave the soap following a major shake-up from the show's new executive producer Chris Clenshaw.

As part of the shake-up, several characters – including teenager Dana – will be leaving the BBC One show.

Despite only arriving in Walford last year, Barbara previously revealed she is happy with the decision.

Discussing her character's exit, the actress said she was "excited" to see what would happen.

Speaking to Digital Spy in June, she said: "I'm feeling excited. I feel that Dana is definitely getting the send-off that she deserves. I think it's about time for her to spread her wings.

"She's a teenager at that age, so I think it really makes sense for the character and that's all I was ever there to do.

"I think she will definitely get the happy ending she deserves – I hope so! I think she will, because she's had a horrible time."

The soap star continued: "We probably will see her have more of a horrible time before she has a happy time – it's EastEnders. There's going to be some doom and gloom."

Barbara also admitted she hasn't ruled out a return to the soap, saying: "I'm just going to go on and keep playing different roles. My dad [Harvey] is always on the Square, so you never know. We'll have to see."

Ahead of her departure, the brunette beauty has certainly been making the most of the perks that come with appearing on a soap.

The young star looked incredible whilst smiling for photographs at the glitzy bash.

Alongside a photo of herself on Instagram, Barbara shared: "Another one from @thebritishsoapawards – what an incredible night. Will never forget seeing my onscreen dad win best newcomer."

"Not over my soap awards look just yet," she captioned another shot.

Barbara's character Dana has enjoyed a romance with Bobby Beale on the soap since joining last year.

EastEnders screens Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
