Ellie Goulding penned a cryptic caption alongside a sizzling selfie she shared to her Instagram Story on New Year’s Day.

The singer, 36, displayed her washboard abs in a skimpy white bikini as the make-up free star cracked a smile for the post, seemingly taken inside a summer house.

Alongside the shot, she wrote: ‘Me whispering to the Sun… You better fix my entire life you little s [crying while smiling emoji].’

Ellie recently revealed that she struggles with anxiety so acute that it leaves her feeling ‘numb’.

The Burn songstress told Stellar Magazine that she delights in the rare moments that she is not feeling panicked.

‘I get such chronic anxiety that in the rare moments I don’t have anxiety, I feel so happy and full of joy that I’m not having it’ she said.

The Love Me Like You Do hitmaker said she finds comfort and inspiration in music and gets relief from undertaking regular exercise, too.

‘Running [for fitness] was such a good way to… honestly, I owe it to that to staying sort of relatively sane, I suppose’ she said.

In January, Ellie revealed in an emotional social media post that she has been struggling to manage her crippling anxiety after welcoming her son Arthur Ever.

It comes after she opened up about becoming a mother, admitting it has ‘taken over everything’ in her life after she gave birth in April 2021.

Ellie and her husband Caspar married in a lavish ceremony at York Minster in August 2019, one year after announcing their engagement, and have been together since 2017.

The couple were first set up on a blind date by their mutual friend Princess Eugenie, and the art dealer popped the question at their countryside home over a jigsaw puzzle.

Her husband was educated at Eton and Harvard, and is the son of an aristocratic Yorkshire landowner and the nephew of art dealer Jay Joplin.
