Invitations have gone out for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s wedding, but Elton John‘s invite must be lost in the Royal Mail.
“We haven’t had an invitation yet,” the singer told BBC2 radio on Thursday morning.
But in case he and husband David Furnish want to crash the May 19 wedding, their travels would be quite short.
“It’s rolling distance,” he added of his proximity to St. George’s Chapel at London’s Windsor Castle, where Harry and Markle will tie the knot.
John, who just celebrated his 71st birthday, was a friend of Harry’s mother, Princess Diana. He attended the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William in 2011 and also performed at Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997.
As for performing at Prince Harry’s big day, the “I’m Still Standing” singer joked that he’d be right on stage with royals of British music.
“And Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar,” he quipped. “I mean the Spice Girls, no one’s going to beat them off the stage, are they? They’re just huge.”
However, rumors of the iconic girl group singing at the wedding were debunked when a source told Page Six last month, “They’re all attending but they won’t be performing.”
