The Crown has quickly become one of the most critically-acclaimed royal dramas to date, focusing on the trials and tribulations of the Royal Family as the young Queen Elizabeth takes the throne. As the decades pass, new characters have been added to the cast to follow the Royal story and in series four, 24-year-old Emma Corrin made her debut as the late Princess Diana, whose love story with Prince Charles (played by Josh O’Connor) unfolds. But as the latest member of a hugely established “family” of actors on set, Emma revealed she was sent a friendly warning by her peers.
They told me I didn’t have to do anything I didn’t want to, and to keep really good people around me
The Queen is currently played by Oscar-winning actress Olivia Coleman and Helena Bonham-Carter portrays Princess Anne.
The two established actresses took Emma under their wing and advised her on how to conduct herself when it comes to fame.
In a recent interview, the young star explained: “Olivia and Helena were especially concerned about protecting me.
“They told me I didn’t have to do anything I didn’t want to, and to keep really good people around me.”
She continued: “They also realised I like talking to people and sharing stuff and they were like, ‘That’s lovely, but you are going to want to not do that so much.’”
Playing the “nation’s favourite princess”, Emma revealed she wanted to portray her as accurately as possible, which meant writing in her battle with bulimia.
“I felt that if we were trying to depict bulimia in an honest way, we had to show it,“ she explained, as it was off her own back that the sensitive vomiting scenes were included.
“I don’t think we should shy away from those conversations; Diana was very candid about her experience with bulimia and I so admire that.”
And as a young actress, she admitted her own experiences of feeling pressure to stay thin and look glamorous.
“I don’t honestly buy that anyone has a healthy relationship with food,” she told Radio Times.
“These days there’s so much pressure on everyone, especially with social media, to be a certain way.”
Elsewhere, fans applauded her incredible ability to capture the essence of the Princess, as new promo photos were released by The Crown’s official Instagram page.
The latest portraits have been released ahead of the new series which is set for release on November 15, and viewers were stunned at the look-alike.

The images show Emma don Diana’s coy expressions, which earned her a heap of praise by fans of the Netflix show.
Looking the spitting-image, the talented actress wore a cropped blonde wig and sported Diana’s famous royal blue blazer and skirt.
Matched with Charles’ grey suit and their loving poses, fans couldn’t get enough of the likeness to the original photos.
Fans of the hit show immediately flocked to the comments section to share their disbelief.

One felt unnerved: “These photos are a bit too eerie for my liking. It’s unsettling. She looks just like Diana!”
“I couldn’t cope with this when I first looked at it. They look so alike!” another agreed.
A third added: “Probably the greatest show ever to air on British TV, and this is exactly why it deserves that title!”
