Emmerdale star Danny Miller, 31, reportedly got knocked down to the ground by a bouncer at The Hive nightclub in an alleged misunderstanding. Lincolnshire Live reported that the star was having a night out with some friends at the Skegness club.

Reports indicated that someone began homophobically abusing one of his friends and Danny intervened.

One of the club’s bouncers then reportedly got involved.

In footage released by The Sun, the star can be seen getting pushed against a wall and onto the floor as expletives are yelled.

A verbal argument ensued once Danny was back on his feet as a crowd of onlookers circled the doorway with their phones at the ready.

Initially, the venue released a statement noting they were “aware of the incident” and detailed what they initially thought had happened as “investigations are still ongoing”.

They said: “Danny was in a booth enjoying the evening with some friends, some clubbers were allowed in the booth from time to time to take pictures with Danny.

“At some point a clubber who had come into the booth, was at first joking, but then became verbally abusive to a member of Danny’s party and made some very disturbing homophobic comments.

“The member of the party was clearly distressed and Danny tried to calm the situation down. The door staff proceeded to remove the offending individual but he continued to make homophobic comments.

“Some members of the door-staff team were unaware that Danny was in fact standing up for one of his party against homophobic comments and this sadly let to an unfortunate escalation of the situation.”

The venue has since issued an apology to the star, as a spokesperson for The Hive told Lincolnshire Live: “The venue and the door team would like to apologise unreservedly to Danny for the misunderstanding that lead to the unfortunate events.

“We hope this does not deflect from what was otherwise a great switch on event for the town.

“Danny really drew in the crowds and made the switch on event one of the best in recent years.

“Danny enjoyed the Ice Bar and the Lamborghini bar and will hopefully return soon.”

Danny was originally at the club for a meet and greet appearance and to celebrate by turning on the Christmas lights.

This engagement is also believed to be why the star was notably absent from the I’m A Celebrity final on Monday evening.

Fans were shocked when the 2021 king of the jungle Danny didn’t appear to crown the new queen Jill Scott.

However, it has been reported that this tradition of the former champion crowning the new jungle ruler was never an official format of the show.

While some fans thought Danny had been snubbed of the opportunity, he thwarted these accusations on Twitter.

Shortly after the former Lioness was crowned, Danny wrote: “Deserved winner Jill Scott! A pleasure to hand the crown over to you! Enjoy it!”

Express.co.uk has contacted Danny’s representatives for comment.
