The series created by Jesse Armstrong is centered around the  Roy family who is known for controlling the biggest media and entertainment company in the world but their world changes when their father steps down from the company.

Sarah Snook and J. Smith-Cameron also received nods in the Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category as they are up against Patricia Arquette (Severance), Julia Garner (Ozark), Jung Ho-yeon (Squid Game), Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets), Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul), and Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria).

Smoove, 56, is a writer and actor best known for his work on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. He is also an Emmy winner as he earned Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for his work in Mapleworth Murders last year.

Fumero, 39, starred on hit comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine which had its finale in September 2021 after eight seasons. Both hosts are set to appear in Netflix’s upcoming comedy series Blockbuster alongside Randall Park.

Euphoria was also a major nominee with their young stars Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney both earning nods.

The nominations for the 74th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Tuesday morning much to the adulation of those recognized.

And Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney and The Flight Attendant’s Kaley Cuoco led the most emotional reactions to their names being called.

Sydney, 24, had double the excitement as she earned two nominations:  Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Euphoria and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role in White Lotus.

Television’s biggest night will honor American prime time television programming from June 1, 2021, until May 31, 2022, as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS).

A host and venue are still yet to be announced. 

The 2022 Emmy Awards will air live at 8pm EST/5pm PST on Monday, September 12 on NBC in addition to being streamed live on Peacock.

Prior to the televised ceremony, the  Creative Arts Emmys will take place over two nights, on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4 with an edited version later airing on FXX on Saturday, September 10.
