Erika Jayne claims Tom Girardi was going blind and deaf when she decided to divorce him as she breaks down in tears about being ‘lonely’ and ‘broke’
- Jayne says Girardi has been suffering from serious hearing and vision loss
- She added that his ‘resistance’ to deal with the issues factored into the divorce
- The singer also said she’s been ‘lonely’ since the split and feels like her friends have abandoned her
- Erika and Tom’s breakup was announced in November of 2020
- Around the same time it was revealed Girardi is being sued for ‘misappropriating at least $2 m’ meant for the families of those killed in a 2018 plane crash
Erika Jayne broke down in tears over her estranged husband Tom Girardi’s failing health in a new teaser for the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills where she reveals he’s losing his sight and his hearing.
The Pretty Mess songstress, 50, opened up to castmate Kyle Richards in the clip from Thursday, July 15th’s episode, telling the actress she hasn’t spoken to the ailing lawyer, 82, since they split in November 2020.
‘One of the reasons I filed for divorce is the resistance to anything,’ she said, explaining how he became agitated when she pointed out how his eyes and ears were starting to give out.
The clip comes a day after Girardi was officially placed under a conservatorship because of his dementia diagnosis.
Lots of loss: Erika Jayne , 50, was emotional as she told her Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills castmate Kyle Richards that estranged husband Tom Girardi, 82, is suffering from serious hearing and vision loss
‘I hope someone is talking to Tom because he’s not good,’ Erika told Kyle during a hike.
‘Tom is a proud man,’ she went on before telling Richards how his ‘resistance’ to things influenced her decision to leave the attorney, who is currently under investigation amid accusations he ‘misappropriated at least $2 million’ meant for the families of those killed in the Lion Air Flight 610 crash in Indonesia.
‘One of the reasons I filed for divorce is the resistance to anything,’ she said. ‘The resistance to a conversation, the resistance to, “Hey, you know, I noticed that you can’t see well.”‘
Speaking from Tom’s perspective, she growled: “What are you talking about, I’m fine!”
‘No, you can’t see well. You can’t hear. You’re f**king degrading in front of me and you’re ignoring it,’ she remembered.

Talking about her own emotions, Jayne admitted she’s felt alienated since the breakup and criminal accusations swirling around her ex.
‘It’s lonely and it’s quiet, and you would be shocked how quickly people turn on you, how quickly people distance themselves from you,’ Erika told Kyle.
‘Automatically they turn because they don’t want to be involved. But they were there when it was good, though.’
She was even more candid in a confessional, saying: ‘Want to know who your friends are? Go broke.’
‘Want to know who your friends are? Go to jail. Want to know who your friends are? Ask them to help you bury a body, I don’t know. You’ll find out who’s there for you.
Erika’s admission about Tom’s declining health comes just a day after his younger brother was officially made conservator of his person and estate.

A court in Los Angeles agreed the move due to Girardi’s dementia diagnosis, which is classified as a ‘major neurocognitive disorder’, People reported Tuesday.
Robert made the legal filing on Monday, the outlet said, after a June 9 court hearing in which he was appointed as Girardi’s permanent conservator.
Girardi is at the center of a high-profile investigation into fraud and embezzlement related to his legal work.
Jayne, who’s been accused of benefiting from funds meant for her husband’s clients, recently shot down claims that her divorce filing was a ‘sham’ to protect assets.
In December 2020, a federal judge in Chicago froze Girardi’s assets, saying the well-known Los Angeles lawyer had ‘misappropriated at least $2 million’ meant for the families of those killed in the Lion Air Flight 610 crash in Indonesia.

In March, the LA Times reported that there had been more than 100 lawsuits filed and multiple complaints made to the California State Bar against Girardi by disgruntled clients who alleged financial wrongdoing and theft.
Jayne has been ‘ordered to turn over financial records’ from her accountant, lawyer and landlord as part of the embezzlement investigation and a bankruptcy trustee is documenting the couple’s assets.
It’s been alleged that the split provided a way for the couple to embezzle funds and that Jayne had received ‘tens of millions of dollars’ from her husband’s firm to fund her projects, UsWeekly reported in June.
Girardi’s lawyers claimed earlier this year that he had ‘issues’ with ‘mental competence’ and it was subsequently disclosed that he had been diagnosed with dementia and late-onset Alzheimer’s disease.
