Evan Davis has revealed he has tested positive for Covid despite being double jabbed and having ‘no obvious symptoms’.
The Dragons’ Den presenter, 59, took to Twitter on Tuesday to reveal he had been forced to pull out of his Radio 4 show after testing positive.
He explained that he had only discovered he had contracted the virus due to random surge testing his area.

Taking to social media, he wrote: ‘Thanks to Jonny Dymond for filling in for me again on @BBCPM today. I’m off work as I’m ‘living the story’ with my own postive Covid test.
‘It was a PCR home test taken on Saturday as I live in a surge borough. The result was a big surprise as I have no obvious symptoms, regular negatives lateral flow tests (including the day of the PCR and since then too), a record of assiduous mask-wearing and I’m weeks beyond my second vax.
‘Haven’t sat indoors at a bar or restaurant since Marching 2020.’
‘I guess I have a very mild case and the lateral flow tests are barely able to pick it up. But there must be thousands like me who look safe on LTFs but would pass a PCR if it was done, and don’t realise it,’ he added.
Isolating: The Dragons’ Den presenter, 59, took to Twitter on Tuesday to reveal he had been forced to not go ahead with his Radio 4 show after testing positive
As a result, as of Thursday the PM presenter has been hosting the show from home while he self-isolates.
It comes after Health Secretary Sajid Javid, 51, revealed on Saturday that he had contracted coronavirus.
He said was ‘feeling groggy’ on Friday evening, tweeting that he was suffering ‘mild’ symptoms and had been double vaccinated.
Test and trace rules mean that anyone who has come into close contact with Mr Javid could now be forced into a 10-day self isolation, as it was claimed Boris Johnson held a ‘lengthy’ meeting with Sajid in Downing Street just hours before his symptoms developed.
The potential disruption in Downing Street underlines the chaos facing Britons as most Covid rules are dropped next week when it is expected cases will soar – potentially pushing millions of people per week into self-isolation.
Rules will be relaxed allowing double-vaccinated people, such as government ministers, to avoid the isolation period but will only come into effect on August 16.
