Gary Barlow has been ruthlessly mocked by football fans over a video doing the rounds on TikTok of him singing a rendition of England anthem Three Lions.
Ahead of England’s match against Italy in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday , the Take That star was seen getting into the spirit, as he played the track – made famous by Frank Skinner, David Baddiel and The Lightning Seeds in 1998 – on the piano.
Seemingly hitting a bum note, however Gary found himself being trolled by England supporters, with one football fan claiming the singer ‘should make a public apology to the whole nation’ – however some die-hard fans were impressed with the efforts.

One fan had shared Gary’s video on Twitter and was seen poking fun at the star, as they claimed: ‘Only Gary Barlow can make me hate one of the all time greatest songs for 2mins f***ing terrible.’
Responding another posted: ‘He should make a public apology to the whole nation for this, terrible.’
A third football fan wrote: ‘Urgh dreadful. No one needs that.’
Baffled over Gary’s voice throughout the song, another questioned: ‘Why can’t he say football properly?’

The original video was shared via Take That’s official TikTok page alongside the caption: ‘I’m sure, so ‘Shaw’… that #ItsComingHome #Euro2020 #TakeThatSummer #FYP.’
It’s already racked up over 477k views since it was posted four days ago, with thousands of people commenting on the video that sees a jolly Gary putting on an animated performance and encouraging viewers to sing along with him.
While he faced a barrage of criticism for his efforts, there were plenty more fans who were all for Gary throwing his support behind the England team ahead of Sunday night’s final.

Others jumped to Gary’s defence, with one fan hitting back at his critics as they commented: ‘Everyone hating on him mate 🙁 only having a bit of fun.’
Another insisted: ‘If @garybarlow says it’s coming home. Then it’s coming home.’

Gary, meanwhile, has been getting behind the England squad and when asked on Twitter if he thinks England would win the Euros, he confidently replied: ‘Yes.’
Following their win against Denmark in their semi-final match on Wednesday night, England are set to go head-to-head with Italy in the Euro 2020 final at Wembley Stadium.
Gary’s Three Lions video was the latest in his karaoke series, The Crooner Sessions, that he launched in lockdown last year amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Famous guests joined Gary to collaborate on a song, that he would later share with fans on social media. Stars that featured on series including Craig David, Jessie J, Rod Stewart, Gabrielle and Sir Elton John.
